I find Constance personally less than 'frightening': the character concept is there, but the projection technology is less than perfect so the face often looks out of synch, and otherwise, she is just too chatty and too many puns.

The old screaming pop-up heads and silent, beating heart bride (both with and without sculpted face) certainly gave the attic more creepy vibes/ambiance than the current chosen setup. I miss those days...

Not sure why they took out the heads. They would still work with her there. I do like some of her puns though. I have a morbid sense of humor.

I wish they would have gotten a mold of her head. I hate the way her balloon head looks.

I personally think her face just looks silly.

I apologize if this offends anyone, but... ...it looks like a blow-up doll.

Thanks Bob, I laughed pretty hard at that.

You know, after a few years of looking at Connie, I think what they were going for is not the bride standing there but the ghost of the bride inhabiting the wedding dress on a dressmaker's dummy. I think what they need to do to make it work is have her completely fade out between lines and have the lighting change to briefly show that it is just the dummy, then have her fade back in to show the ghost manifesting itself in front of you. They may need to move her back a few feet so you can get a longer view though.
                    .

ANY picture of the bride is REALLY creepy to me, but on the ride it's not too bad. Not sure why

I think they tried their best with this. Just wait...in about 5-10 years technology will have created some kind of hologram that will be just amazing.

And she is cross-eyed too (at least in the OP pic) tho I suppose mentioning this fact could get my post deleted.

Silent, heart beating bride was creepy, and is the better of the brides.

The creepy lonely mysterious heart-beating bride creates more dark atmosphere than Constance will ever achieve. The old attic room is creepy, dark, scary, ominous, and mysterious all at the same time. Better without the phantom piano playing the undead wedding music. The screaming corpse-like pop up heads can surprise you if you're not alert!

I remember the old attraction sign outside the mansion has that sentence: "Some scenes may frighten children." Does anyone remember that?

DLP Phantom Manor has that warning as well even today!

Tokyo Disneyland still has the classic attic scene: darker, no music, silent, loud beating heart, atmospheric, the ice bride, and the pop-up heads. However, you can hear the background music for the Graveyard finale scene.

Dream on. It is extremely unlikely there will be movies in 3D that don't have glasses in 5 - 10 years, let alone a quantum leap into being able to make holograms move and be able to project them somehow.

But can they at least fix the projection issues where her arms and hands seem to wrap around the dressmaker's dummy unnaturally and her eyes cross?

She should just be a decayed skeleton corpse in a dress pointing at you as you pass with the classic heart beat. Simple = creepy.
In the quest for quality, I have no problem with the characters footing the bill.
