I really like disneyland park for it's storyline of fantasy of one man's dream who is "Walt disney" sure they have some of the best attractions and shows in the world, but I also might like disneyland for it's pure history rather than the actual park itself since it's opening I wasn't around like most of you back in 1955, so I didn't get that experience like the one I'm presently getting at DCA being there when it opened in 2001 and watching changes and expansion more every year since it opening, and actually getting attached to DCA more than disneyland and that's why I love the revamped DCA more than disneyland am I nuts?

maybe some of the reasons I say this is because I only like some of the lands of disneyland but DCA as a whole park wins by a landslide i love every land there maybe if Disneyland revamped Tomorrow land and frontier land and the awful Toontown then my mind would actually change but i don't see that happening anytime soon so for this time I love DCA a little more!

I like to think that Disneyland, and DCA should complement each other and not be in competition with each other.

Exactly how old do you think most of us are...? I wasn't around in 1955 either.

I have to say that DCA has grown tremendously on me these last few years that they've been working on it, and I thoroughly enjoy it now. There are parts that I like as much as Disneyland, and a few parts that I like even more. That said, Disneyland is the part I grew up with, and I don't know if those childhood memories can ever be completely surpassed. Only time will tell though.

I have always liked DCA more. Even before the expansion was announced. I think it was because it was my first park, and I grew up with it. Also the fact that it had barely any people was a plus too!

I think we're the same. I'm a little bit in love with DCA just a tad more than Disneyland right now. Disneyland is still the best park out there but DCA's starting to have a little bit of nostalgia and magic that it never had before.

I highly disagree, but to each their own

Disneyland is the one I grew up with, and when DCA came out it was a dissapointment. It's only now, in my 20's, that I see it having great potential.

I guess it's usually the one you grow up with that you get most attached to.

Although I haven't seen all the DCA changes myself, I can't say I agree with your opinion, but I absolutely get what you are saying regarding the influence of when you grow up. I grew up with Disneyland in the 70's and 80's, so there's the whole nostalgia thing going. If you've grown up with both, it's arguable you have a bit more objectivity, although generational tastes also come into play and honestly when you're a kid you don't see all the good, bad, and ugly things you might see as an adult going into the parks for the first time. All that said, I do think that with all the stunning upgrades that more and more people are going to feel the way you do, and frankly it's about time.
Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy.

I agree. I love DCA more than Disneyland.

I loved tracking the changes throughout these past five years,

I love the park now more than ever, thanks to the new additions and the 'soul' they lent to a park that needed one,

and I will love continuing to grow up with the park in a way I have done for the past 11 years.

Agreed. As much as I love Disneyland I have a bit more love for DCA as I have grown to watch it change since opening. DCA still needs a lot more work though and Disneyland may also need some as well in the state its in.

I certainly hope when I have children in 5 or so years that they will like Disneyland more than DCA. I guess I'm just biased, but I think I would legitimately be upset if my kids became DCA fanatics and hated Disneyland.

For instance, my stepsister is 17, and she refuses to go on almost anything at Disneyland because it's not thrilling enough. She will only go one Space Mountain, Thunder, and Matterhorn. And then she rides Screamin and TOT over and over again.

That's no way to enjoy the parks, if you're missing out on almost all of it.

I want my kids to have the experience of the Tiki Room, POTC, It's a Small World, and other classic rides that DCA doesn't have anything similar to yet.

The only thing DCA has created that I would already consider to be a classic is WOC and maybe RSR.

That's about it. They have a long way to go, but they're getting there, and I'm finally starting to feel a bit of that Disneyland Magic over at DCA
