    Re: Redwood Creek

It reminds me alot of Tom Sawyer Island. Although I wouldn't be disappointed at all if Redwood Creek was taken out and replaced with something.

I just like it because I know I can find Up! characters there. The cave that tells you your spirit animal is cool, too. But I'm too old to go on some of the structures and too young to have kids for the area. Am I for ripping it out, though? Definitely not.

Redwood Creek is one of my favorite areas at DCA.

I got no issue with it. In fact, I agree about the shade. It's a nice place to just take a stroll, get out of the crowd for a few minutes and decompress. The place photographs pretty nicely as well after dusk.

    Redwood Creek

I keep reading in lots of posts how everyone wants to rip out Redwood Creek and put in new E ticket rides. Am I in the minority for LOVING the area? Maybe it's the sentimentality of years worth of memories with my children there but here's why I think it deserves to stay:

It's an area children don't have to wait in a line for fun; go in and you're off! As a plus there's only one entrance/exit. As a parent it is so nice to let your children "go have an adventure" but know that they are not going to get lost.

It is SHADY and cool even on the hottest summer day. One of my biggest complaints with DCA is that it is all concrete and HOT. DL has the River area and wonderful mature trees throughout with lots of cool shady spots to sit enjoy a snack and people watch. In my opinion DCA doesn't have enough of these spots. Redwood creek is always our go to chill spot. Grab a frozen lemonade and churro from the cart outside and you're set.

My family loves fantastic rides. But if all I wanted was the biggest, fastest, coolest rides I'd go to Six Flags. To me Disney is magical because it's about spending time with the ones your with and losing yourself in a story. Redwood Creek has an excellent theme and while I'm there I feel like I'm in the woods. One of the posts I saw said something about how the area wasn't putting "enough butts in seats" to make it worthwhile. I think there's value in areas that AREN'T wall to wall crushes of humanity. What are your thoughts?
