Re: What's the most laps you've ever done on the DLRR?
Back in the olden days, when it took an actual ticket to ride, I would often ride around at least 5 times. I really felt I was getting my money's worth!

Since we go down to Disneyland several days at a time, I always kind of like to start my first day in the park with a couple of "grand circle tours" - usually 2 and a quarter (two full trips around then get off on New Orleans Square). I always find a couple of trips on the RR a good way to get reacquainted with the park after being gone awhile.
I have a co-worker who would tell me her and her husband would spend an afternoon getting buzzed in Downtown Disney then head over the train to basically go in circles to sober up. Kind of sad really.
Not sure how anyone can sleep on that train, the car coupling on stops and starts can be quite jarring.
No flash photography, please.

Nothing sad about that. They're being mellow and not getting in any fights, arguments, or being loud. Besides, you said "buzzed." That's different from being drunk.
Come to think of it, that sounds like a relaxing time if I was buzzed!

1 actually. After years of assuming the railroad was the most boring thing in the park, I finally convinced myself to actually GO on it a few months ago. It's now on my "not to be missed" ride list
Re: What's the most laps you've ever done on the DLRR?
When I was a kid, I was OBSESSED with trains...so my mother took my sisters around the park to ride other rides, and my father sat aboard the train with me for hours it seemed like. I'm certain we must have gone at least 10x around the park. I always loved the different displays you could see...and I even got to go into the engineer's compartment & set off the train's whistle....
Fast forward 30 years later, and now I had the chance to do the same thing with MY two sons...With their grandfather there also. What a memory. I think Dad was content to let me narrate to my sons about the rides around the park while he relived his own memories of doing that with me.
Re: What's the most laps you've ever done on the DLRR?
As much as I like the DLRR, my personal record is a paltry one and a half times. I guess I'm programmed to ride and let others on when my one time around is over. I did ride it 4 times in one day a long time ago with my 4 year old nephew who just loved the dinosaurs, so I took him on while others in our party rode Splash Mountain or other attractions.

I have never kept track but I am sure I have hit atleast 10 at one time at some point. I loved trains as a kid and still do, and the DLRR is my top attraction, I love the sounds, and the smell, and just everything about it. I can also sleep on it no problem if I am tired, the moving of a train is very relaxing.
Off topic a bit but once I fell asleep on the SD Trolley after working an overnight shift and the train operator woke me up when the train was going out of service, once off the train I realized I was downtown and it was 4:00pm, I got on the trolley at 7am....lol..
