  • [Fun] Just Catching a Few Zs.

There's been a lot of talk lately about where you'd like to spend the night at Disneyland, if you could. It got me thinking. Where have you actually slept at Disneyland. It doesn't have to be for long. Just long enough that you were not awake. I realize that for the most part, you won't be able to catch a full night sleep there. Just wondering.

Me? I remember one trip where the day before I helped my cousin move. We then got up to open up the park. We were pretty tired. We sat down to watch America Sings. The lights dimmed and the curtain opened revealing Sam the Eagle. The next thing I know, the lights are coming up and the whole show is over. It was only about 10-15 minutes, but I was OUT.

    Anyone else have similar story?

Re: Just Catching a Few Zs.

Last year, I fell asleep on a bench on Main Street around 8pm and I woke up due to commotion around midnight.

Surprising nobody did anything to wake me...

I fell asleep on the POTC ride last year. I was embarassed as an avid lover of this ride.

I fell asleep on Space Mountain once, right after sitting down. Slept through the whole thing. The cast members didn't want to wake me up (they all said I looked so cute while I was sleeping), so they let me ride around a few more times, totally schnackered out. I finally woke up and got off, although as I was leaving, I heard some little kid muttering some complaint about me snoring. Ah well.

I get drowsy on that ride a lot lately. Whenever my GF suggests we go on it, my first thought is "okay...nap time".

I love the ride too, but it's like Tylenol PM to me ever since I hit my 40's.

When myself and my high school buddies came to the Captain Eo premiere party back in the 80's, we were all exhausted from being up all night and all piled onto the caboose of the DLRR. We zonked out in there for a few hours as the train circled the park. The CM's were super cool about it and didn't bother us.

I slept for a bit on the ground in across from Ariel's Grotto over at Disney's California Adventure. I was in line waiting to get into Disneyland on the 50th.

I've slept for dozens of laps on the DLRR with a friend of mine. Also slept on a bench in the hub with the same friend. I was awakened by a family eating turkey legs that time.

I've also fallen asleep on POTC, the Tiki Room, Captain EO... you know what, I've pretty much slept everywhere.

I remember being ridiculously tired going on "It's a small world" it was the last ride of the night, on our first night, and of course i had gotten maybe an hour of sleep total (in 15 minute pieces) the night before being so excited, but it was me and my grand parents on its a small world and we all nearly fell asleep we were all so tired lol but i dont think we did, and if we did it was for maybe a minute sort of dozeing off.. lol thats as close as ive ever been though..

I fell asleep in Captain EO on June 15th and was woken up by people leaving. I wanted to slap myself in the face for falling asleep in my most favorite show.

I slept on the train for what I think was an hour. Luckily, I was sitting in the corner so no one could mess with me or steal my wallet, lol.

As an adult, no. I don't recall falling asleep in Disneyland. Only when I was very young, in the late 80s or early 90s. I remember my father carrying me when I was 6 from Adventureland to the parking lot, because I was tired. I fell asleep on the car trip home. That was the only time I remember sleeping (or in my case, close to) in Disneyland. For some odd reason, I remember that vividly.

On the day I arrived at DLR for cast/AP previews of CL, I was running on 30 minutes of sleep. The night before I couldn't get myself to settle down and close my eyes because I was too excited. I was fine walking around and enjoying the rides until mid-afternoon. Luckily I was at Grand Californian at the time. A pianist in the lobby was playing disney tunes, so I found a recliner and passed out for an hour or so. I woke up and felt like I had slept for 8 hours. It was best nap ever LOL).

My epic sleep story. 100% true!

It was OMDD and I had left the park around 7:15am and ran into a fellow micechatter who I'll remain anonymous due to slight embarrassment. haha... Anyways, we had the crazy idea of reentering disneyland at 10am just for an hour or so for the heck of it. Now keep in my friend had been up for almost 48 hours at this point. So we chilled at white water snacks, then rode some rides at DCA and then finally re-entered Disneyland at 10am. Our first ride was astro blasters. nice and chill ride cause we were beat. after exiting we thought ok, one more and lets go home and hibernate. So we thought lets end OMDD with a blast on StarTours even tho we were dead tired. So off we went. Going thru the queue I could tell my friend was beyond tired. Being up for 48 hours with a huge backpack too. He got the limited edition mickey ears even. But he was a super fan like me and had to end it with StarTours. Luckily The line was short and soon we were off. Well, hehe, the ride starts and we're flying in space and I look over and I notice my friends arms and legs are just flying ALL OVER THE PLACE. I was really alarmed at first. I thought OMG, is in convulsing? Wait his eyes are closed... is he dead? Did he have a heart attack or something?? He's on startours in mid flight during a space battle! whats going on?!? I look over at another friend of ours and i point to my bobbing friend and she's mouths, "OMG, he's sleeping!" Then i came to my senses, OMG, he fell asleep in the middle of startours!!!! how is this possible? OMG!!! This has to be a first. The guy was OUT the whole ride thru. Legs, arms, head bobbin all over the place. haha!!!! ) It was insane. Just unbelievable. As the ride ended i wondered if I would have to wake him. That and I kept saying "please don't be dead, please don't be dead :beg: .. Ironically enough i didn't. the moment he heard the startours exit music, he sprang up like nothing ever happened . I guess after riding this ride over 100 hundred times, your brain is just trained in mysterious ways like that. Later I told him what happened. He seemed to have no recollection of it. It was like a black out from fatigue but totally worth it.

                                  DISNEYLAND RULES!!

No great stories to tell. Never slept on an attraction, even when super tired. But get me on one of Grand Californian lobby couches, and I'm snoozing.
I am old. But still love Disneyland.

It was the AP preview of Indy. We had been there all night and I laid back on the rocks between JC and Indy and just passed out. My friends let me sleep for about 1/2 an hour. Woke up stiff, but had a great nap.

In recent years, I've caught a few winks here and there, usually in shows. The scary part is I'm prone to night terrors, so it's pretty darn lucky that I haven't woken up in the middle of Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln screaming.
