I gather that it was a proposed site in the mountains that Walt Disney himself looked into in the 1960's but were there plans for this site? Did it include rides? I am highly intrigued by this and would love to hear anything since it's all so new to me. Did this have anything to do with the theme at Blizzard beach?

Re: What's this "Mineral King" I keep reading about?
It was a planned ski area south of I-80. It barely got past the concept stage.
While it never was built the concepts are what all ski areas became. Far more than just ski areas with base hotels, it had a focus on a more rounded experience that includes a lot of retail.Be Cool Stay in School!
Next year I'm trying for a summer internship at Stark Industries.

Re: What's this "Mineral King" I keep reading about?
It was going to be a hotel and it was going to have a Country Bear Jamboree, but not any rides. There was some preliminary plans and concept drawings, I'm sure you can find them if you search. I don't think the theme of BB really had anything to do with it, but WDI likes to borrow from old ideas that were never built, so it wouldn't surprise me if BB does have a few references to it.Please check out my website, UncleBobDisneyGuy.com!
