  • [Fun] Cures for the Disneyland Hangover

    Okay...so...

My family and I had a GREAT trip to the park yesterday (07/05/12) and we all had a blast. CarsLand is absolutely stunning and RSR has already become my daughter's favorite ride in the park. If you're at DCA around dusk you should hurry over to CarsLand and watch the lighting of that area. It's super cute and amazing. BVS makes DCA an absolute winner, My pops and I couldn't get over the fact that this was the same exact entrance we walked through for years! You instantly forget the bland, drab, concrete mess of the old entrance and are completely surrounded by a gorgeous scene of LA. (although my mom did mention that she missed the old Zephyr train) This trip also marked the first time my daughter got to FINALLY ride Star Tours II and Space Mountain and she is officially hooked on the "big kid" rides! It's a bitter sweet moment, on one hand she's old enough to ride all the cool rides but on the other hand...it's a sign of the inevitable...she's growing up!

    but I digress

annnnyway, so after such an amazing day, having to wake up and go to work the next day is more than just a chore! You wake up groggy, a little stiff, maybe even sore, feet are still a little achey, and not always in the greatest of moods. So how do YOU do it? What is your cure for what I call the Disneyland Hangover?

Take the pictures from your trip and print out a few or keep them handy on your computer.
Look at them when you have time and have a long sigh and smile that you were there yesterday

Bring back to life all the great memories that you had by remembering them.

Or start planning your next trip in your head...a little spoiled, but that's the only way I seem to fix it. That, and listening to lots of Disney songs and wishing I could go.

Jump right back on the horse...wait, wrong cliche. I go over the pictures we took and what we bought. I like to leave one or two things I bought on my dresser to look at for a couple of days before finding a place for it in the office.

Coming on here to see what everyone else posts helps me, too.

Returning to work the day after a DL trip is so hard. Tried it once. I said I would never do that again. But, I admit I have done it a couple more times . I usually have to drink 3 coffees the following day to keep awake during the day. And I try to keep off my feet as much as I can. Moreover, my DL hangover symptoms also include a raspy voice -- all the cheering and screaming on rides really takes a toll on me lol.

How could I forget the raspy voice! another common side-effect of the DL Hangover...luckily I'm behind a desk all day and in my office with the door shut

Here's just a few pics from yesterday that I was able to grab from my phone. Enjoy!

Re: Cures for the Disneyland Hangover

The only cure I have found is booking the next trip. This is my first year holding an annual pass. Originally, I was going to take 2 vacations in the calendar year to justify the cost. However, after getting back in May, I booked a weekend trip for (this weekend! yay!) to see Carsland, and I have since booked a trip for Halloween. I am going to run out of money pretty soon, but I figure this is my big year o' Disney and I am just going for it.

Re: Cures for the Disneyland Hangover

Embrace the hangover because you got it at Disneyland. I'm a walking wounded the day after but I put my pictures onto my computer, put on Disneyland videos and music from YouTube and relive the memories. Oh, and drink plenty of water and coffee.
I am old. But still love Disneyland.
