I was checking out the results to the favorite song poll I posted earlier this evening, and I starting thinking about You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly! and whenever I think of that song, or about Peter Pan's Flight in general, the next thing to always pop into my head is the shadow of Peter Pan at the start of the ride, and Peter's words... "Come on everybody, here we gooooooo!" Since I was in diapers I have been hearing that every time I visit Disneyland, and 38 years later it still gives me goosebumps, and butterflies in the stomach each time I hear it. I am practicality tearing up just typing this out right now. It is just so magical and so wonderful, and really what Disneyland is all about. A flight into pure fantasy and fun adventure. Many other things in the park give me goosebumps too, I am a very sentimental kind of guy. But out of curiosity, what are some of the things that give you other Mice Chatters out there the goosebumps. Would love to hear some stories - I promise not to cry when reading... lol.

Re: What in Disneyland gives you goosebumps?
I remember before last year, I really wouldn't take the fireworks into consideration. I figured it was the perfect time to ride rides since everyone was watching the fireworks. But you know what, last year I decided to find a good seat by the Partners statue and watch them; and oh my god, it was unlike anything I had ever experienced. The music, the memories, just everything in 15 minutes. The thing that got me, though is after the show and I look around and I hear laughter and people crying, and it made me realize again the power that Disney had, and that they know what they're doing. I started crying a bit too). I had never experienced a moment as powerful as that in Disneyland, and I don't think I will again until I watch the fireworks this year.

Re: What in Disneyland gives you goosebumps?
oh, man... where to start? the smell of POTC, walking around disneyland at night, peter pan's flight, the moment i step out of the stretching room in the HM, the vanilla smell pumped through main street... and at home, listening to the main street electrical parade music makes me tear up.

I would have to agree about the POTC smell - it is odd, but very true.
Thought of another - The Small World Clock Parade...___________________________________________

'Magical' isn't the parks best fireworks show but when Dumbo comes out with the song 'Baby Mine' playing, wow, goosebumps and then some.
Used to have goosebumps with the 'A Whole New World' flying carpet sequence in Aladdin but .... no more carpet flying I guess.Writing about all things Disney, a couple of paragraphs at a time

Re: What in Disneyland gives you goosebumps?
In a roundabout way, when we went to WDW and I saw the entrance to Country Bears! And Carousel of Progress. And the PeopleMover. I teared up at the Bears, right before I started singing all the songs - much to the amusement of my 10-year old grand next to me.
I got goosebumps when we got to ride the Lilly Belle earlier this year. Same feeling as when we toured the Studio. Even talking about it, I feel it right now! lol. It was like Wow, Walt did this. He was here and walked these corridors. Much more of that feeling in the Studio even though it applies to almost every inch of Disneyland. (I know Walt never saw the Lilly Belle, but he had the idea for the Presidental car...., but you can still feel it!)sigpic
Hidden Mickey - Historical fiction about Walt that mixes action and mystery with time travel and fantasy! Tweens to adults will enjoy these novels. And now, three gamebooks to play in Disneyland, DCA and WDW Magic Kingdom!

Re: What in Disneyland gives you goosebumps?
From "Here you leave the world of today..." at the entrance tunnel to the time we leave (always through the 'other' tunnel) there are just too many goosebumps and teary eye moments to count. How can you count times of 'magic' and your own childhood memories and then the memories made with your own children? OK, now I have a lump in my throat, remembering! Thanks guys!"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

Re: What in Disneyland gives you goosebumps?
Snow on Main Street
"All aboard" and "next stop"
the whistle sound as I come throught the gates
the music on from the tea cups
Each visit we recreate my favorite memories from when my boys were toddlers;
Dumbo at night and my youngest will say "pretty lights"
Peter Pan and my oldest has to say "Mom, we're FLYING!"
They roll their eyes but when we're planning our visit they are now the ones to add those stops :ghug:

Re: What in Disneyland gives you goosebumps?
It used to be...seeing the Mattrhorn from the freeway...but it seems harder to find now until you are right up on it. I have to agree about Dumbo and Tink in the fireworks...there is something about flying that Lways gets me....also the "your attention please!" right when you enter that is so thrilling.Glitz, Glamour, Gaiety!
