As if I didn't already have the highest regard for Walt, reading some of his beliefs as expressed through the quotes listed on Disneydreamer.com have shown what a genius (even though he has a very interesting comment about "genius," as well), and true human being, this man really was.
Okay, now sometimes I have to step back and admit that he was a human being, and he wasn't perfect.
None of us are.
(In fact, there was only one perfect person who ever walked the face of this planet, and many of us know who he was....including Walt, apparently, according to some of his inspirational quotes that are included).
But the dream that Walt turned into reality is indeed remarkable. None of us will disagree on that, and that's why we visit boards like this. Because what Walt did has touched us all in so many ways.
And what really amazes me as I read through his quotes is how simple many of his thoughts really are. Common sense. Pure and concise. What life should be about in so many ways.
They are an interesting read.
For those who are interested, take a look. The ones I think stand out for me (in light of some of the current paths the present "company" is taking) are the ones that deal with his perception of money and how he saw it as necessary to make the dreams come true (in referencing Disneyland). BUT, he also mentioned that Disneyland was "a work of love." And how they didn't "just go into it with the idea of making money."
