  • [Fun] Longest Waits in Disneyland

I don't go to Disneyland as often as others on this website, but I'm just currious to know what was the longest wait you had to endure for a ride. Name the ride, the time you went on the ride, the time you were in Disneyland (aprox.), and any other things you might want to mention.
It means your future hasn't been written yet. No one's has. Your future is whatever you make it. So make it a good one, both of you. - Doc Brown, Back to the Future III
Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. -Forrest Gump
Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the from way I see it, you can either run from it, or... learn from it. - Rafiki, Lion King
Do or do not. There is no "try".- Yoda, Star Wars
What are conscience! I'll tell ya! A conscience is that still small voice that people won't listen to. That's just the trouble with the world today... - Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio
Think of all the you you'll find when you leave the world behing and bud your cares goodbye. - Peter Pan
Mama always said, dying was a part of life. I sure wish it wasn't. - Forrest Gump
Well, you can't never let anything happen to him. Then nothing would ever happen to him. Not much fun for little Harpo. -Dory, Finding Nemo
You don't understand. These are moments I regret, the memories that I have to change. - Cobb, Inception
The very things that hold you down are going to lift you up. - Timothy the Mouse, Dumbo
Well, the road didn't cut through the land like that interstate. It moved with the land, it rose, it fell, it curved. Cars didn't drive on it to make great time. They drove on it to have a great time. - Sally, Cars
In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for Chef Gusteau's famous motto: Anyone can cook. But I realize, only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere. -Anton Ego, Ratatoulli
Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Her ongoing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life-forms and new civilizations; to boldly go where no one has gone before.- Star Trek

If you don't think, then you shouldn't talk. - March Hare, Alice in Wonderland
We don't like what we don't understand. In fact it scares us, snd this monster is mysterious at least.- The Mob, Beauty and the Beast
What I love most about rivers is you can't step in the same river twice. The water's always changing, always flowing. But people, I guess, can't live like that. We all must pay a price. To be safe we loose our chance of ever knowing what's around the river bend. -Pocahontas
You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. - Christopher Robin, Winnie the Pooh
People think I'm odd. So I know how it feels to be different and I know how lonely that can be. - Belle, Beauty and the Beast
The only thing predictable about life is its unpredictability. -Remy, Ratatouille
If watching is all you're going to do, then you're going to watch your whole life go by without you, - Laverne, The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all. - Eduard Christoff Gerard Renaldi, The Princess Diaries
You try. You fail. You try. You fail. But the only true failure is when you stop trying. - Madame Leota, The Haunted Mansion
We are not thriving. True, our people live, but our culture is dying. We are like a stone the ocean beats against. With each passing year a little more of us is worn away. - Princess Kida, Atlantis: The Lost Empire

Since you're new here, I-I'm gonna cut you a break, today. So, why don't you make like a tree and get outta here?

    Re: Longest Waits in Disneyland

I tend to get spoiled about how long to wait. the longest I've waited, if I remember correctly would be Grizzly River Rapids. It was about 3 hours. The situation was I was there with my brother-in-law, his ex-mistake, and thier two kids. The only attraction the kids said was a must-see was GRR. So we waited in the massive line. I had an AP at the time, so I didn't really care how long I waited, since I could go back whenever. This was 11 years ago, so there wasn't usually a problem seeing all of DCA, anyway.

Had I bought a one day ticket, there's no way in He** that I would have wasted that much time for one ride!

We were in DCA for one day and I waited 2 hours (timed by my faithful Tinkerbell watch) in Tower of Terror. I was dead set on going on it because I had always chickened out. I was with about 30 other peers from my band. It was boring, but when you're in a line that long you get to meet new people

I don't remember HOW long it took exactly (but it was a long time), but when Indiana Jones first opened, I waited in a line that extended into Main Street.

I'm to the point where I'd rather skip rides than wait for hours...but the longest one I remember doing was about 100 minutes for Space Mountain. When I got in the queue it said 60 minutes--still too long for my taste, but I was with friends. Oh, how that wait time estimate was wrong!

3 hours for RSR. I was in the single riders line, but once I got to the front, the ride broke down. I ended up watching both Cars movies! )

                    Re: Longest Waits in Disneyland

Wow no one on here rode Rocket Rods I assume... 3 and a half agonizing hours with 3 break downs. At one point my cousins stood up on a pedestal and told jokes... That lasted for about 45 minutes during the longest breakdown and was really fun since my cousins are hilarious and the crowd actually paid attention and laughed in unison at their jokes. We got in line at 10 and didn't get on the ride until 1:30 a.m. (the park had long since closed!). This is the only time I've seen a trail of CM directing guests towards the exit because of how late we got out of the park. It was the only time I rode the ride and so I do not regret, but it was ridiculous!

I also waited 2 1/2 hours for Ghost Galaxy because it broke down every other time we tried to ride it.

^^ I vaguely remember waiting hours and hours for Rocket Rods with my sister and parents when I was much younger. I'm actually very surprised my parents took us on that ride let alone toughed out the agonizing wait. It had to have been at least 3 hours and I took several naps.

Right up there is when we came for the opening of Star Tours 2.0. We made our way to the end of the line which was near the Emporium on Main Street. Had to have been around 3-4 hours as well.

Most recently, waited 3 hours for Luigi's Flying Tires. Got to see a father really hammer into his kid, couples get into arguments, guests grow highly irritable.. very entertaining 3 hours.

I feel like 3 1/2 hours in 1998 America was WAY better than 2 1/2 in 2012! I've noticed a lot more unruly behavior by park guests in the last 5-10 years (And don't even get me started on clothing choices). Pictures of parents and children running around picking up rocks in cars land, parents helping their children over the fence around Casey Junior in WDW, ect all make me a little sad inside since I know there is not end in sight to people's increasing lack of respect for Disney property and those around them... Honestly the 3 1/2 wait for Rocket Rods was long but I never once noticed anyone being unruly and out right breaking the rules. I see this kind of behavior happen in every line I wait in be it 2 minutes or 60 minutes now days! I don't think I could handle people acting ridiculous and breaking things in line for 3 1/2 hours now days.

Back in the pre-fastpass era I have waited for 2 or 2 and a half hours on a few things like Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Rocket Rods, and Indy. Those waits were nearly all when the attractions first opened. Nowadays, with fastpass and the fact that I have an AP, I won't generally get in a line with a posted wait time over about 75 minutes.

Rocket rods. It's was like may 2000? With my 8th grade band for magIc music days (so maybe not may?) I have no idea how long we waited I remember parts of the line and none of the ride lol. We had fun though so that's all that counts... I just know we were in that line FOREVER!

2 hours plus a few minutes for Indy back when it first opened. That definitely was the longest wait time ever for me.
But for sheer wait agony, I remember a visit to Walt Disney World back in the summer of 1983. It was a very hot and humid day. Every wait time felt like an eternity with the heat and mugginess bearing down, even if the queues were inside.
I am old. But still love Disneyland.

I remember waiting four hours in line for Indy when it first opened. At the time I did not live in southern california so it was a must ride. I'm pretty sure I still have those decoder cards in my old room.
I actually heard this said by a CM over the loud speakers at Big Thunder in 1995, "Please do not sit on the rocks. You will fall...and you will die."
