  • [Question] WOC Paper Art

I have never seen WOC except for a few clips here and there in advertisements. Did they ever include this paper art style into the show? From what I've seen/heard, it seems like they only use actual film footage.

The paper arts style was in the show during the Sebastian/Little Mermaid section. They were in the projection domes but since those were removed, it's no longer there.

Wow, it's really unfortunate that the domes are no longer there to showcase that bit of artwork. That's the kind of detail that you might not notice but to focus on it is really wonderful. Mad respect for the artist.

The artist Megan Brain did many pieces for the show, including Chernabog and Alice in Wonderland characters. Unfortunately most of the scenes were cut from the show early on..

In addition to paper animation, they also had an artist create sand art that creates an animated background in the Aladdin scene. That is still in the show in case you ever see the sand-like swirling colors behind Aladdin and Jasmine

I was mad they cut the Alice in Wonderland section but did long sections of other movies like Little Mermaid and Aladdin

            Re: WOC Paper Art

I think it's ridiculous that they cut out so much of the paper animation scenes. WoC could have been so much better if it had a lot more original artwork/animation scenes like those and not so many clips taken directly from the movies that I can watch on DVDs at home.

That's disappointing. The paper art looked pretty cool! World of Color looks pretty awesome even with the scenes from the movies, but it would be really great to see them try and play around with different techniques and styles for the show.

TBH, you couldn't really tell they were paper art. Well, at least I couldn't. I knew the fishes in the 'Under the Sea' scene were paper art but to me it just looked like the normal animations from the movie.
