I've been to both resorts but maybe I'm biased towards DLR cause I live in so cal but when i went to WDW a few years ago it didn't make me feel special like DL does, make cause in WDW is so massive there so much to do and many things to see were in the DLR it's nice and cozy and make you feel special? or maybe it's just because the original will always be the best especially since WALT DISNEY was there and it feels more Nostalgic any thoughts on this or maybe you feel differently!

I think since DL is more compact it really immerses you in the theme giving you that magic feeling! WDW being more spread out with wider walk ways you never feel inside the theming your more just looking at it. Although I do feel that DAK has more of that magical quality to me!BGood! It's not just my motto its my name!

I have always said that Disneyland has a special charm, lightning in a bottle, that no other Disney resort will quite achieve. Disneyworld, in particular, to me has always felt more like a business or a machine rather than anything remotely magical. Yes, it does have some very magical elements but it will never, ever be Disneyland.
Walt's original Magic Kingdom, the one that he dreamt of, where he walked, slept, lived, drank orange juice in the mornings, and the one that he dreamed and worked so hard to create a reality. It's a special place where all of your dreams can come true and there really is no other place on earth like it.Comment

Because I have never been to WDW before!
Case closed.
Let me reword that. I have yet to experience WDW fully, but DLR, yes, many times. It just has a homely feel that I have grown fond of and attached to.
Plus, it has the Matterhorn and a better Pirates of the Caribbean.
And a Mint Julep Bar.
And a great Fantasmic.
And many original attractions.
And a Mint Julep Bar.
And it was the land Walt himself crafted.
Did I forget to mention the Mint Julep Bar?

Disneyland offers so much to do in so much less space. Sure Disney World has more attractions overall, but the best of them are all at Disneyland, and often better than in Florida. Add to that the number of unique rides and rides that are gone from Florida (Subs, Mr. Toad, and now Snow White), combined with the history of the attractions (first daily operating monorail in North America, first steel coaster, and of course some being personally designed and attended by Walt Disney) and the seasonal overlays of the rides that don't happen in Florida and you get a park experience that WDW just can't (or won't attempt to) duplicate. I enjoy WDW, but at the same time I'm appreciating Universal Orlando a lot more recently since they're constantly building new attractions at their parks and not just sitting back and doing the bare minimum Universal is really becoming the Disneyland of Orlando. Disneyland has been adding so much recently, and it sounds like there is more on the horizon that it's just hard to even compare it to WDW any more. Disneyland just gets it right, that's the simplest way to say it.Comment

I need to go back to Walt Disney World again. Schedule to go back there again next year. I ENVY their 4 parks and their 2 water parks but hate their summer weather.
Since I have been to Disneyland so many times, I don't have the feeling for it, I just have a feeling of wanting to go back to Orlando. Actually I feel like going to TOKYO DISNEYLAND the most.Comment

I agree with SoCalbma! I've visited DLR a few times, but if it wasn't for my random visit to Disney World when I was at Orlando earlier this year, I wouldn't be getting a DLR annual pass. The moment I saw the Cinderella Castle, entered Fantasyland, and saw Mickey's Philharmagic, I remembered how much I loved Disney movies and I felt like a kid again. I was so happy :') I was actually kind of disappointed when I saw Sleeping Beauty castle again after getting my DLR AP, but the park has grown to me. I love love love DCA as well, probably more than DL and I've never felt happier being in California. And since I only spent one day on all 4 parks of WDW, I know it isn't enough so I'm looking forward to spend 4+ days again at WDW. For me WDW is special because if it wasn't for that hustlin' one-day visit, I wouldn't have known what I've been missing here in California
