Let's take a breather from negative and just talk about all the things we love about DLR. Look on the bright side of things and just have a good time discussing everything wonderful and memorable about DLR! The parks aren't meant to be a subject of dispute and negativity but a subject of memories and happiness. In this thread I'd like to focus on the latter. So...let the conversation begin now!

I'm totally loving this thread.

I can't wait to go in September and experiance all the new stuff at DCA. Staying in the Grand Californian, and trying to get the hook up so i can finally visit the legendary club 33. I've never really tried to find anyone with a membership but i'm dying to go and i want to suprise my wife. It will be a totally different kind of trip this time around as she's pregnant so i'm trying to find really cool stuff to do. I feel bad that she wont get to go on most of the attractions but i'm sure we'll have a blast. we always do.

Just remember to "try" to not take it personal...because right now the Disneyland resort it stronger then it ever been, we just got a new E ticket....an old ride from the past...a small show that pays tribute to classic cartoons and two highly detailed lands....pretty good summer

I'm really excited to see all the change at DCA, I'm very excited for carsland especially for my Husband because he used to be a mechanic and for me I am over the moon about BVS because that time period was the focus of my studies in college. But most of all to see it as a parent watching my daughter's face light up I know she's going to love it.

I've almost fallen victim to negative behavior, so shame on me. D: I really hate being negative, and we're all here for the same reasons, so I'm saddened to see all this arguing. I think at times like this, we just need to make sure that when we're arguing, it's logical and relevant and that we aren't just trying to prove a point. That we're trying to have civil discussion, not just an "I'm right, you're wrong, you have to agree with me."

Thanks for this thread. It's helped me reconsider my behavior!

I've had to catch myself many times too, Dillamond. Not to sound a like an old fart, but it does take an effort to remember that you can draw more conclusions about how you communicate a point with someone in person than when you're typing your thoughts anonymously from the comforts of each of your own computer desks. So I just try to avoid those threads altogether if my curiosity doesn't win out.

Whooo love this thread!! We leave for our trip in 1 week and 4 days!! So soon!! It's my first time in the parks in 13 years (!!!) so the last time I went, I was a kid... first adult visit!! And my boyfriend is coming with me and it's his first trip ever! And our first vacation together even though we've been together for 5 years... AND his birthday falls during our trip.

So yeah, I'm excited!

I can't wait to go again! The last time I was there, I experienced Carsland and BVS during AP previews so I still haven't seen DCA with all the walls down. I'm looking forward to that. I can't wait to get those Glow with the Show ears and see Carsland light up at night with a Racer 5 in my hand with all my friends. BLISS.

A friendly reminder: positive posts and enthusiasm about the park is a fantastic thing, and always welcome. However, a few posts have had to be removed from this thread due to baiting other members or borderline personal attacks.

Post about what you love and enjoy and are excited about in this thread, not about why you dislike how other members feel. Everyone is free to have an opinion on a subject, and this thread is welcome as long as it sticks to the rules about respect for other members even if they are critical about the parks. Personal attacks are not tolerated regardless of the reason, on either the 'pro' or 'anti' park elements side.

Thanks! It's kinda feeling surreal right now, like "There's no way I'm actually going to be in DL that soon...." so I just can't wait for it to really hit me - and to be there of course!!

I am excited for round 2 of DCA 2.0!! Just scheduled a trip for mid August and I can't wait to get back and explore Cars Land some more and enjoy Buena Vista Street some. Strange that I'm more excited to be back in DCA than Disneyland.

My girlfriend surprised me with an upcoming September trip! I wasn't planning on going at all this year but now all I can do is plan, plan, and plan some more ... well, because I love planning for vacations! We love going to Disneyland and Vegas so we like to go to one place one year, then go to the other the next year. We already went to Vegas this year so to go to Disneyland in the same year is a flippin awesome surprise. We are very much looking forward to some great Disneyland awesomeness!

Oh and I can't wait to see the new DCA!

While I completely agree that it is a good thing to focus on the positives, I also believe that discussing the negative is an indication of how much someone truly cares about Disneyland and its legacy. See, there's even a way to make the negatives into positives.

Anyhow, for me, Disneyland is one of my favorite places to be in the whole world, and it has been since I was young. To me, it represents the good in society, and people in general. It reminds me that great things are achievable when you put your heart and mind into something. Disneyland truly is an inspiration to the whole world, and something I'm grateful to have been able to grow up enjoying.

I'm kind of the same. For once, I actually might make DCA my top priority.

Howdy Pards,

Well, for this ol’ timer, a visit to Disneyland is sorta like returnin’ to a wonderful old dream. When I walk through those tunnels and into town square, I don’t know why but tears always well up in my eyes. I reckon it’s because somewheres along the line I’ve become “age relivin’ fond memories of the past”…

It brings back memories of long, long ago for me…those wonderful evenings setting on the couch with Mom and Dad watchin’ Walt Disney talk about his park on our small black and white television…seeing those fireworks over the castle and wonderin’ what it must be like in person. And, then, that magical year when we traveled all the way along route 66…to walk through those gates for the very first time… A whole lotta years have gone by since that very first visit.

While many wonderful things are gone…many wonderful things from those years remain. Like the Good Ol’ Mark Twain Riverboat still makin’ it’s way ‘round the river bend of the happiest place on earth. And there’s the Good Ol’ Golden Horseshoe…just as beautiful as I remembered it all those years ago. And, of course, that wonderful castle…timeless, enchanting, magical…

The sights, the sounds, the smells…everything brings back a lifetime of happy memories…

And, now, across the way…something wonderful has happened once again with the opening of the huge, beautiful, awesome Cars Land and Radiator Springs. Oh how I love the way it pays tribute to the Mother Road, Route 66…how I love the fact that it has breathed new life into Disney’s California Adventure…

And…the new statue of Walt and Mickey…Buena Vista Street…exciting new things to see and do for the very first time…the truth is, all of this kinda makes an old, old feller feel young again…

I reckon there has always been magic here…and that magic kinda gets in your heart and stays there…forever.

As those fireworks light up the sky over the castle once again…tears come…once again. Happy tears, thankful tears…tears of wonder, tears of happiness and delight, tears of love.

Disneyland truly has been, is, and always will be a place where the young and the young at heart can laugh, and learn, and play together...it really is Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom.
