Atmospheric Entertainment throughout Disney's California Adventure

Howdy folks --

What do you all think about there being more atmospheric entertainment throughout the new Disney's California Adventure? To me, it would be great if Buena Vista Street had its own Barbershop Quartet type group. Maybe they could be a group of young men waiting for their big break themed in attire like this? It could be a fun nod to when Walt Disney came to Buena Vista Street.

And maybe Hollywood Land could have some period century stars come out and do some skits on the street. This could be similar to Buena Vista Street's citizens, but a tad more realistic. Hollywood Land is all about HOLLYWOOD, so I could definitely see a street show where a limo would come out to reveal a glamorous star with a film crew following the star who could sing some of the great songs that the 1920-30's gave birth to. Who knows. But something atmospheric like that.

Buena Vista Street has their citizens, Red Car Trolley Newsboys, and Five and Dime, but the entertainment past that pretty much ends (besides Pixar Play Parade). It would be neat to see each land with it's own minor entertainment offering.

What do you all think? Any ideas? Am I just nuts (no, I already know the answer to that.)

As cool as the "actors" are I think we have enough as is...I'd rather see the money be put away for new Shows and Attractions since we have meets and greets on the Pier...Cars in Carland and many live performers on Buena Vista Street for me this is more then enough people walking around the parks

I was trying to figure out what type of entertainment would be suiting for the Pier. What are your thoughts? And honestly, I'm not that big of a fan of the Citizens of BVS. Nice concept, but they didn't present it well.

^well they do 3 shows during the day and one at night

phineas and ferb, the Army men and the Goofy Fountain show (and lets not forget WOC)

Along with meets and greets for the Toy Story Characters...Duffy, Donald, Goofy, Mickey and the Princess Dining experience for men anyway thats a LOT of live entertainment for one area

Only thing i'd kinda liked see added is a meet in greet over on the left hand side of the line area....since they don't really need to use that area too much take some of it out and make a meet and greet for Arel and Prince Eric

I love the idea of the streetmosphere but they should have been more organized like the Citizens of Hollywood this was just a mish mash. The idea of having period stars while cool would rob Disneys wallet in payments to keep the right to use that persons likeness.

I think for PP, they could have a street magician going around doing tricks with the audience. Nothing big, just going around doing small card tricks, balls under the cup, etc. Keep it to the 20s period of course, but could get in small audiences. It would be a mixture of the Citizens of Buena Vista street where its a character roaming around, but a small show as well.

That said, I guess you can alter it to fit Hollywoodland as well!


And agreed about BVS! They already have two good shows that is based around that period, tons of meet and greets and citizens of BVS. I dont think it needs more to be honest. But its nice to see so much entertainment around DCA in general! It was a good idea to spread the crowds out as much as possible with all the entertainment shows in BVS, CL, HL and PP!

I, for one, would love to see the entertainment continue. I've also loved the musicians I've seen throughout the park. While the streetmosphere on BVS may need some tweaking, it helps keep the place alive.

I think as long as the current Citizens are testing well, they will expand them around the corner to Hollywood Land as soon as the area properly becomes Hollywood Land. (It's still Hollywood Pictures Backlot IMO)

I think adding performers and musical performers to Hollywoodland is a good idea, but it'd be somewhat tricky given that the whole street is pretty much split in half when the Red Car Trolleys are in full operation. We really wouldn't want another reason to stop Trolley operation. It'd be neat if they staged a fake filming somewhere within that area, maybe infront of TOT and have people come in as extras or what not.

As far as street musical performances go I think Five and Dime at BVS, Minnie's Fly Girls at CF, and Instant Concert... Just Add Water at PP are some of my favorites. The presence of Phineas and Ferb as well as the Army Men by PP puzzle me since they don't really belong in the time period PP is set in.
