[Chat] Cars racers down since July 12th...

WARNING to anyone planning to get to go on Racers tonight (or heck even tomorrow) be warned that the ride has been shut down do to an electrical outage since yesterday after noon...according to them it will not be back up tonight and maybe not even tomorrow. The cast member said it was having HUGE problems

All Cars were stuck in the same spot on the tracks since yesterday when we checked, so be warned if you are planning to get there early tomorrow to get a FP or go on Racers...it may not be open

Lets hope it gets back up soon....my friend were pretty sad they could not get on it...also we waited 40 mins for a FP...and could not use it....yay

Wow I was lucky that I was able to ride it in the SR line before the afternoon. My friends would have been disappointed if they couldn't ride it for the first time.

Darn, I have family coming over to go the resort on the 20th to see the new attractions. It would suck if the star of the project (RSR) remains closed til then.

Highly, highly doubt RSR will be down that long. I'm planning on coming on the 17th (first visit on the anniversary date!), and I'd be shocked if it was still closed.

I left DCA at 10pm tonight and it was still closed. I walked up earlyier at 8:45 I think , and they were running altohoe I only saw them traveling on the left track

From the looks of it and me being a electrican for 15 years and just my opinion , but I saw them walking the track and it sounded to me like they were trying to find a short in the electrical system. I use stuff similar to this ride on overhead cranes I build and install and I have delt with a buss system shorting out before and it takes a little time to find it. Again it's just my opinion I could be wrong

My App says it's still closed...I feel pretty bad for all those none AP's who are going to the park and can't even ride the Big new ride..I'm sure thousands are going to have to go home aand wait a year...or years to ever come back

I was at DCA on Thursday evening and many CMs told me that the whole park experienced a power outage. Mermaid was closed, Screamin' too, as was Goofy's Sky School, RSRs, Toy Story. All but RSRs opened by 6:00PM.

I was on it Thursday around 5:45 when it broke down, and stayed the rest of the night hoping it would reopen. I came back Friday and it was closed all day. It is finally open today! A cast member told me I might be able to use my re-ad from Thursday to get back on, depends on the cast member. Another told me that on Thursday when it broke down, they had to operate it in a way no one had been trained by, so they were following the "instruction manual" of racers haha.

I have a buddy that comes to Socal for a week a year from Luxembourg and was SUPER excited to see Cars Land. Unfortunately he went on Thursday to see but couldn't ride RSR because his Fastpass was for 6:30. He was pretty bummed to put it nicely. Glad to hear things are up and running today.

Don't all major tech rides have issues when they first open, at least for a month more? didnt Indiana Jones break down lots?

It still does...almost any day i go Space...Indy and Racers go down at some point

You'd think Tech from like 10 years ago would be tested out by now...guess not

This has been excessive, even for those circumstances. They bit off more than they could chew this time. And I haven't noticed issues with Indy for quite a while.

Keep in mind that this is a new attraction and problems will pop up. This is the first summer running it so your logic that everything will be fixed by opening day is flawed. RSR hasn't even been officially open for a month! So give them a a break as its hard to pin point a problem for the cast members, especially since ether all relatively new to this attraction and hasn't been running for years. Also Cast Members follow instructional procedures when a ride breaks down and the system is still ironing out its kinks!

Look at Indy and Space! They break down at least once a day, as do other attractions! They're machines basically, and machines aren't perfect and will have there flaws! Be lucky this isn't like Test track and opens officially two years after it initially soft opened because there were many problems!

Plus it was the first rainfall the attractions experienced. And i'm just making an educated guess, if Test Track closes in the rain then RSR probably will have to too. As it has to do with the infrastructure of the attraction and how it deals with heavy precipitation, speed wouldn't play into the factor! Look at the structure of CS and it still goes 60 mph in heavy rain!

In the end Disney is only thinking of the safety of the guests and the durability of the attraction, cut them some slack!

Thank you! I keep laughing at folks who claim Test Track has to close because it would be unsafe or painful to go 60mph in the rain. I've been on coasters that exceed 80mph in the rain!

Shouldn't these "issues" or "problems that pop up" be resolved before the attraction officially opens to the public? I don't recall Haunted Mansion or Space Mountain being shut down repeatedly in their early days.
