[Question] If USH was next to the DLR and would it work ?

meaning they were neighbors in Anaheim would the parks more competitive and add more every year or would it be bad for the parks? would prices rise up or dip down? would DCA ever be built ? so many questions share your thoughts?

USH = Universal Studios Hollywood

DLR = Disneyland Resort

I assume you mean Universal Studios Hollywood? I do not think its location would have any effect of Disney, the two are already fairly close.

Please no.....Universal is 40 mins closer to me then DLR.....if it moves over there...Id have no reason to get an AP

But if it did...if anything it would just increase people going to both parks (mainly Universal)

I think it would be bad for Universal. I don't think that they would get as many visitors as they do now if they were as close to Disneyland as suggested. One of the benefits of Universal now is the amount of business they get from people in the Valley and the rest of LA who don't want to make the drive down to Anaheim.

I think if people are driving that far, they may as well go to Disneyland as it is much more of a full day experience than Universal.

Because it is fun to dream, fantasize, and imagine. That is why we all love Disney, right?

To the OP, look at Orlando with UOR and WDW. By now USH would have gotten a second gate and Universal Branded Resort Hotels and DLR would probably have gotten a third gate, a water park, and more hotels to create a better, more fulfilling vacation destination.

My question is how does available land change in the hypethetical? If land and layout is better Hollywood would take on a resemblance to its Orlando sibling and be much more competitive on that aspect alone.

Actually it almost did happen.

The first site that Walt decided to put Disneyland was across the street from the studio. That would have put it fairly close to USH.

But what also needs to be kept in mind that Disneyland is actually very close to Knott's Berry Farm. And also that both DL and KBF are also very popular parks. Both parks compete with each other but they also compliment each other in many ways.
