  • [Question] Do they still utilize the dream suite?

I know they built it back for the "year of the million dreams". But other than the occasional comment of John Lasseter staying with his family, I was wondering if people are still able to stay there.

Maybe it's like club 33 where its only for the Disneyland VIPS.

I miss that it's no longer the gallery.

As far as I know it's still used by the higher ups on occasion. There are often charity events and stuff that use the Dream Suite as a prize. Other than that I think it just sits empty.

Sidenote: I too, miss the old Gallery location *sigh*.

So basically I think it sucks that we lost the old Gallery while the Dream Suite sits mostly empty unless some Disney VIPs who are in town decide they want to spend the night up there. Not saying that I too wouldn't love to stay there if I had the chance, but reality says that I will never see the inside of that space ever again, and neither will 99.9999% of us. It was better as a gallery (and let's not forget the old Fantasmic! dessert buffet).

I couldn't agree more. The Dream Suite is a waste of space built for a short lived campaign and hardly gets the use it should get. At least as the Disney Gallery there was guests coming in all the time to purchase items, watch Fantasmic! and even window shop. I feel if they are not going to utilize this anymore for guests to "hopefully" experience and only for very special private event winnings or VIP use, then it should be removed and turned into something we as guests can walk through and experience.
I know Club 33 would love to have that space but if they did, I can imagine the vast majority of the place will look far different from Walt's idea.

I always thought it was strange for them to put all that effort for one promotion when they put it together. It'll probably be like Walt's apt above the firehouse, just remain there for the Disneyland 1%ers

The Ramada Maingate had something on their Facebook page recently that members of their staff had won overnight stays in the Dream Suite. It looks like they are doing something along those lines these days.

I've been entering a Verizon sweepstakes daily that includes a night in the Dream Suite as part of the price. So they must offer it as a prize to some promotions.

Here's the link for Alaska Airlines contest. There's a lot of fine print, but it looks like you win 3 nights in a Disney or good neighbor hotel, and one night in the Dream Suite on one specific day later in the year. I entered and am sure I will be the winner! (and the recipient of more junk email for my trash file!)

I don't understand the hate...was there anything in the space that the current Disney Gallery occupies?

It was the the Annual Pass Processing Center before the Gallery.

Maybe it's because I never had a reason to visit that part of Main Street before the change, but it seems to me that the Disney Gallery is better suited there than in New Orleans. With the vast amount of ticket booths, it seems unnecessary to me that there is a place dedicated to annual passes--but I suppose the same could be said about the Dream Suite that is dedicated to a few handfuls of people around the world.

One of the reasons return to regular public access my not be possible is the stairs. I know they have an elevator for wheelchairs an such, but they are small rooms and doorways up there. I do miss the Disney Gallery though.

I would love to see the Dream Suit become a tour + some archived Disneyland stuff just for fun. Heck...put it in the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour.

Maybe so, but the original location of the Gallery was so unique. I am not really opposed to where it's at now per say I just have a lot of memories of the original area.

They either need to have more contests to win night(s) in the suite or provide rental packages for people to rent out the suite when it's available...maybe for celebrities staying in Anaheim or something.

Celebs staying in Anaheim with their families are already one of the biggest uses of the suite AFAIK.

I agree with the tour idea. It's a real shame that the space is just not being used by so many of the guests. Like so many other spaces in Disneyland, it became a place of special memories and emotions for so many people. At least if it was a tour, I would be able to show my children where their mother and I got engaged, and not have to just point up to the building and say "it happened some where in there."
