  • [Chat] what's on your non-attraction wishlist for DLR?

Besides wishes for certain attractions to kick the bucket, or for new ones to come in, what do you wish you could see happen in the parks?

For me, I wish there were more sit down, full service dining options - and in a variety of lands. I really feel like there should be at least one full service restaurant in each land, minimum.

    Thoughts? Your own wishes?

Does more live entertainment count as attractions?

I wish they would build that Astronomer's Club character sitdown restaurant in Tomorrowland ( The Neverland Files: Astronomers Club ). They had plans for it in Disneyland Paris but it never came to fruition. I just think it would be so cool to meet Galileo or Leonardo da Vinci, not to mention being able to eat in that super detailed dining room. It would also be cool to see a Pirates-esque Alcatraz e-ticket in CA Adventure, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

I've said it before: a tunnel that runs underneath ROA, connecting Critter Country with Frontierland would be awesome.

No, I don't think so! I am thinking of attractions more in the sense of rides, in this case. Entertainment, dining, theming and infrastructure is more what I'm going for in this thread!

I'd like to see even more healthy food choices and perhaps a restaurant like the Black Eyed Pea, Cracker Barrel or similar family style place

I wouldn't mind seeing more unique shops around the park much like how it was done many years ago.

I would like to see a food festival like at Epcot. It would spotlight different foods from different places in the states.

Full Service restaurants is a great one for me. I know they haven't always performed well. But one at Tomorrowland would be rocking, and DCA could definitely use another couple.

Also, more variation in the characters that get brought out. There is something special in knowing that no matter what day you go, any disney character could turn up.

Okay from the top of my head for the whole resort:
                      More unique and detailed shops
Better food/dining offerings (which they're improving)
More relaxing areas (or oasises) to escape the crowds and the heat
                      More immersive areas to explore
More waterfalls or bodies of water
                      More spontaneous atmospheric entertainment
                      A better design for TL

Healthier food offerings!! I'm actually surprised how many I was able to find last trip so they are definitely improving in that department already.

While this sounds awesome, and I would LOVE it, it brings to mind the Adventurers' Club, which would be an incredible addition to Adventureland.

                            Unique Shops:
New Orleans Square -- Bring back the antique shop

Cars Land -- A collectibles shop that sells vintage and limited edition diecast models like Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Corgi etc.

I'd love to see a new parade for DCA, even if it's just a new version of DHS's Stars & Motor Cars Parade. Plus, new sit-down restaurants for Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Critter Country, Grizzly Valley, and Hollywoodland.

Plus maybe a new hotel if there's the room? They can connect it with a People Mover-like system.

Unique shopping experiences and specialty restaurants are at the top of my list.

Disneyland used to be full of shops that carried themed merchandise that was unique to that part of the park. Now, they carry mostly the same stuff. Bring in some model rockets, star maps, and planetariums to Tomorrowland. Sell Victorian decorations on Main Street. Offer neat cowboys and Indians merchandise in Frontierland (come on... who doesn't love those plastic bows with the suction cup arrows?). Let's see some draw-your-own cartoon kits in ToonTown. I'd also really like to see Disney come up with a unique, non-Disney character line of action figures for each land. It would consist of spacemen, aliens, and robots for Tomorrowland, Victorian people on Main Street, cowboys, Indians, and miners in Frontierland, and safari explorers in Adventureland. I know I'd buy 'em. The word souvenir should mean so much more than a plush or a cheap plastic figurine of Pluto.

For the restaurants, I think some of them can stand to be updated. Red Rockett's Pizza Port stands out more than anything else. With other locations in the parks serving updated pizza and pasta options, why does Pizza Port still carry the same stuff they've had for over a decade? The restaurant is also in desperate need of a retheme to rid itself of its 1990s colors and furniture. If they want to make even more money, they can make special days or nights where the restaurants have special items. How cool would Taco Tuesday be at Rancho de Zocalo, or half price whole pizzas on Thursdays at Pizza Port? There are so many options that would benefit the huge AP audience and provide Disney more money in the process.

I would like to see the Tomorrowland Arcade returned to it's former glory. Any dead space in the park used in some fashion or another (ride, decorative, food, entertainment). Also I would like to see DCA rethemed into something not so...whatever it is now.

As well as adding more dining options, I really would like to see another night time parade. I also really miss the interaction between parade characters and guests. I remember old parades when CM's used to walk up to little kids sitting on the curb and high five them or stand them up to dance. Now its just a smile and a wave to the imaginary person standing next to me.

And bring back the summer nights when Disneyland used to stay open till 1 and 2 am!

I know, I know, you said not entertainment, but I would really like to see a festival of the floating lanterns like in Tangled.
