[Question] how to make a birthday trip special?

of course going to disneyland is going to be special enough... but i wanted to ask you guys if you had any tips for making my husbands 30th bday even more special.

we will be there for a few days and telling other friends and family who have passes to come hang out while we are there.

i was thinking of a special dinner one night at one of the fancy places?

how can i get a bday cake? (ps... we are vegan/vegetarian... do you think they would make a vegan bday cake for us?)

so lemme have your ideas or other things you have done at the park to make your loved ones feel special!

Make sure to get a birthday button at city hall the cast members will give him birthday greetings throughout the day. If you need a special item like a vegan cupcake I would contact the resturant and request it when you make reservations.

Like the previous poster said get your Happy Birthday button at city hall. Napa Rose is good for dinner for one of the nicer places. I am sure you can contact the resturant ahead of time when you make reservations and maybe they can get a vegan dessert ready for you. I would skip Blue Bayou, its a fun atmosphere but the food has not been very good our last few visits and for the price it is discouraging. Have fun, I love spending my birthday at Disney!

Also try to spend some time with one of the singing groups - I know Dapper Dans will singHappy Birthday to those wearing birthday buttons, and I've heard that the Voices of Liberty do too.

If you're staying on resort, you can call Disney and purchase "in-room celebrations" - they decorate your room, and it's quite fun. It's a little on the pricy side... When I did this for my boyfriend, a couple people went in on it with me.

One year for my birthday I got to "steer" the Mark Twain! Granted, this is not solely a birthday-thing, but when I got to the attraction and asked if I could ride in the pilot house, having a Birthday Button on probably increased my chances of being accepted! When it was over I received a special certificate proclaiming the occasion.

Another fun thing to do -- which again can be anytime but is especially nice for birthdays -- is to ride in the Lily Belle (the special car that oftentimes is attached to the end of the Disneyland Railroad train). To do this, go to the Main Street Station early in the day and ask the conductor if they are giving rides in the Lily Belle. If they are, and if you are lucky, he or she will put your name down for a certain time for you to return for the most wonderful trip that you will ever have on the DLRR.

Probably the best part about my birthday at disneyland, was when I was walking into the castle, Cinderella wrapped her arm around mine and said "Let's go for a birthday walk!" and that was probably the most magical thing that ever happened to me. We only walked for about a minute, but being a 17 year old boy with Cinderella on my arm I felt pretty awesome! Characters are pretty awesome on your birthday.
