[Chat] Single Rider Line Abuse

I have never noticed this before, but today I was in the single rider line at Radiator Springs Racers and three times someone came barging though the line to catch up to their group that had gone in ahead. in general I don't have a problem with groups in the single line, but I thought that this was too far out there. if I was having a bad day I might have said something.

I can't recall any other attraction with a single rider line like RSR so it may only occur there.

oh, also I was told fastpasses ran out around 9:30, the single rider line around 10:00 was an hour wait.

the ride is great, but my first ride was marred by three smart phones being held up in the first row to record the ride.

also, off topic, is there a mobile version of mousechat? I thought about posting this while I was waiting, but it takes too long to load on my Sprint htc Hero.

I had people catch up to each other in the single rider line and I thought it was very crazy also. If you want to stand together get in at the same time otherwise pileup in the back like everybody else. Also there Is no micechat mobil yet unfortunately..... Help Dusty please!!!

I see people do the catch up thing all the time, and it's really annoying, but I usually don't say anything. And it happens on all the rides, even in stand-by lines. I'm not sure exactly what they can do to stop it but I think the SR lines have bigger flaws than this.


And I wish people used smart phones to video in front of me. It seems like I'm ALWAYS behind a huge group of people recording with iPads .

Me and my wife have used single rider lines. We stay in line together but once we get the entrance we do go separately then meet up afterwards. What is bad is when people go in groups of 2 or more then plead with the CM to let them go together and the CM lets them. I have not seen this but I have heard about it. That is completely wrong. If you are in single rider line you will be separated, period.

Really? People really tote around iPads to video & take pics. Sorry, that's weird. I mean I love my iPad but it's too big and breakable to lug around Disneyland. I'd be afraid I'd drop it or smash it in my little backpack. AND I think it's rude to hold up something the size of an iPad where it obstructs someone's view. Just RUDE!

Really? People really tote around iPads to video & take pics. Sorry, that's weird. I mean I love my iPad but it's too big and breakable to lug around Disneyland. I'd be afraid I'd drop it or smash it in my little backpack. AND I think it's rude to hold up something the size of an iPad where it obstructs someone's view. Just RUDE!

Yeah, I don't get it AT ALL but I've seen many people with iPads at the parks. Using them to take videos, it always looks like they are holding up a clipboard or something. Very strange. I worry enough about my smartphone as it is, as far as getting squashed or broken.

Wow! The iPad thing is so random and very unfortunate. It kind of makes me hope they learn their lesson by accidentally dropping it. That's kind of mean to think but they are ruining the experience for everyone else just because they don't feel like bring out a camera or camcorder, or phone!

I don't think it's that they don't feel like it, but that their iPad has effectively replaced their camera or camcorder. If they have an iPad, they might not have sprung for a phone with superior camera/video capabilities.

My boyfriend and I use the single rider line since it really doesnt bother us if we sit together or not. We enter the line and wait together yes, but we make it clear to the cast member that we dont mind being split up. The rides are only a few minutes long so we figure the trade off of not waiting a hour or more in line is worth it. Not to mention it is a lot easier to talk a family member in to watching our 3 year old for a shorter amount of time ha ha.

Heck yeah it sucked! A couple months ago I was going to see the Magic the Memories and You for the first time, and was super excited to see it for a few weeks before. I got a nice spot behind a tourist group of about 15 people playing on their smartphones which I hoped they would put away once the show started. Once the show started my wish was granted but the smartphones were replaced with gigantic, intruding iPads. I think every single person in the group was recording the show with one. I kindly asked a few of them to tell the group to turn them off but they couldn't understand any English. Eventually I moved to a better spot but I was pretty ticked off. Earlier that same day a woman was filming POTC with an iPad in front of me, but she put it away when I asked. Sorry for being so off topic but I just needed to rant

Me and my lady got lucky and unintentionally abused the RSR single rider lol. We happened to be assigned the same car and for some reason, the numbers didn't add up and only one person ended up sitting next to me so....she sort of hopped over to my side )

But on a slightly related/unrelated note do any of you notice cast members on matterhorn have a bit of an attitude toward SR? Last few times i've went this one cast member seems to love to let empty seats go rather than let a SR go through. He acts a bit impolite toward us and tries everything in his power to hold up SR line as long as he can. He is a bit older so perhaps he sees SR as cheating?

At Disneyland, I've never had a problem with fellow single riders, but I think the only reason this is happening at RSR is because people see the shorter line and they try to make the CMs feel bad when they get to the front for not letting them sit together. Once the popularity of the ride slows down, these single rider problems should go away.

GAH! That makes me angry just reading that. Well, we can't all think about others at times, I suppose.

The iPad being hoisted up in the air right when fireworks, parades, rides etc start is the early 20's equivalent of the child being hoisted up on the shoulders at the last minute by people in their 30's-40's so I have to stare at butt crack the entire show. At least with the iPad I can still see the CORRECT show.

It's been awhile since I have used it. I just tried again and got the same error. I wonder if it is down for maintenance or if something is wrong with it.
