News Disney confirms new stage show for Fantasyland

This should silence any of those silly rumors that the theatre would close. Any speculation as to what the show will be? Also, why is construction on the new Fantasy Faire going so slowly? Do they just not want it to open sooner? Let's talk.

I find it interesting that they are kicking the princesses out before they open their new home. Looks like the Small World Mall is going to be pretty crowded for the next few months. I don't know what the new show is going to be about, but I wouldn't mind seeing a Fab 5 show, as the theatre is pretty close to Toontown and the Fab 5 is pretty underrepresented attraction-wise in Disneyland. That being said, I would be in support of the demolition of the theatre in exchange for an attraction(s), because I'm not a huge show person, but I'm excited to see the new show anyways!

Perhaps they have come to their senses and are just revitalizing the area as part of Main Street like it should be.

I noticed that too, Everytime new pictures arise there doesn't seem to be much change...all they seemed to have done was strip one building of its paint and taken off the canopy of the dance floor.

I wouldn't mind seeing a show based on the older Fab 5 shorts, I miss those cartoons

Maybe..but it's coming that for sure....I mean it says in the article why the Princesses are moving and how much it's costing

Also I'm part of the small percent that think the area is going to be 100 times better then what it was before...whether it is park of Main Street is the past....they are moving forward with investing into the land to give us a nice new Subland


And for anyone saying Fantasyland is behind the castle...Small World....and Matterhorn can be accessed more then 3 other ways there besides the castle....

I really hope they are sticking to their words. "Brand new" means to me that it won't be pieces of a previously-existing show and it really opens the doors for something amazing.

I was looking at the park map to see where Carnation Plaza was and it was not near Main Street but next to Sleeping Beauty Castle so I don't mind it as much, okay who else would have wanted that sign.

Yeah...no. It's not Main St and the dancing is still gonna be there. It's Fantasyland on the right side, so it makes no sense not to theme it on the left. It's dead space most of the day. Bring on the faire.

I am totally with you. I think Carnation is a great place for PFF and fits in with its location, near the castle with that secret passage. Having the PFF in the theater was such a waste and I am THRILLED to hear a new show is coming. I'm happy to see a princess sub-land even though we don't do princesses. Clears up the space for what it was intended to be--a theater.

That and Pixie Hollow, and Ariel's Grotto before that, were on the right side of the castle. They're just matching whats on the other side. Next they'll say Tiki room is on Main St because it's in front of the Adventureland sign.

Let's stop being so negative and be realistic. Entertainment in Fantasyland is usually based on classic characters. Snow White, Pocahontas, Beauty and the Beast, etc. A little good faith and a little less bashing, would be nice.

Actually the article that you linked to in your original post stated that it is:

The new faire will run where the Carnation Plaza Gardens used to be at the end of Main Street, U.S.A.

Also, Disney has referred to that area as Main Street for years.
