  • [Chat] Every Row A Starring Role. Olympic Quality Canoe Guide Gives Rivers A Good Paddling!

This month marks the anniversary of canoes at Disneyland park -- no motor or track since 1956! http://di.sn/60024LxqTo celebrate, Disneyland Resort cast memb...

The river canoe guide featured in this video loves motivating guests to take in some fresh air and paddle in sync around the highly scenic Rivers of America. She looks healthey enough to compete in the Olympics; perhaps starting a canoe paddling division. She notes that the canoes only exist at Disneyland, andt that here's an opportunity to meet people from all over the world. I've always enjoyed this unique attraction that harkens back to 1956 (that makes it almost 60 years old). I'd definitely call that a good paddling.

ahhh memories... It takes real talent to almost get kicked off a ride before it's even opened for the day! I'm not sure how fast we went but we made our Canoe guide double over. The only thing funnier then 8 Jungle Skips at 6am is 8 wet Jungle Skips at 6am! Just remember the air is cold, the water is colder, and the jokes aren't as Disney as they are when the park is open to the public.

Was it from the speed, or, nervous about the competition, hungover, or laughter?

Thanks! I had kinda Shanghai'd myself. The traditional annual Disneyland team canoe races are propably as popular as they have been since Walt's days. i love the clever names of two of the teams: "Pain Street" and "Canue Kids On The Block".

:lmao: I take it that the jokes are fresh...fresher than the pre-park opening early morning air. You must have got pretty wild o almost get kicked off the canoe, techskip. I guess that you would have had to swim to Pirates Lair, At Troublemakers Island.

Thanks for that video! What a lovely cast member (Jessica). Seems like she really enjoys her job.

I'm so glad that Disneyland still has the canoes. It really is amazing that they still exist, in light of all the "idiot-proofing" measures taken on so many other attractions and areas of the Park.

Couldn't agree more regarding the cast member. Jessica appreciates her job enough to learn a wealth of detailed information about the rivers of America and the canoes. She also takes apersonal interest in individual guests and their experiences.

I believe that the reason the idiot's haven't help the paranoid legal-freakos ruin the cnos is because idiots aren't interested in getting exercise, and the canoes travel low enough on RoA that they are under the radar of the legal freakos.

Not sure why she said they're the only ones who still have the canoes. TDL has em as well.
