  • [Question] Is this Disneyland Castle?

Hi everyone from Micechat. So, I saw a Sleeping Beauty Castle's picture online and I was impressed by how beautiful the castle was looking in that picture. I would like to ask you when the castle looked like that and if this layout was temporary or permanent. The castle looks much nicer in that way. I hope you enjoy.

That sure looks like it was a part of the castle but it never looked that way. What you are seeing is a float from a parade (I think the old Parade of Dreams) in front of the castle. The castle never looked like that. Ever.

I was wondering what that is because I have never seen the castle like that.

Could it be a different park?

No, that is in fact Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland with the finale of the Parade of Dreams on Main Street. The angle makes it look like a continuation of the castle but it's just a float.

You're right. Here's a picture of the float from another angle:

You can see that the Mickey logos and colors of the castle are the same as in the first picture.

Dang, good eye. I would have never caught that.

Wow it's tough to tell where the float ends and the castle begins!

                  Re: Is this Disneyland Castle?

FIRST OF ALL: I am so sorry for my poor english. I am not from USA(I am from Brazil). So, English is not my native language.

Thank you so much for all your comments.

Well, I do not know if you agree with me, but I really like how the castle "looked" in this picture. It is not taller, but with more content and looks more impressive and more "princess" style. I liked how it caught my eyes and had and nicer presence, but it is not "over the top" like MK Cinderella's Castle, wich is too tall and pointy and has boring colors. IMHO, if, in some day, Disney is going to refurb the Castle, I would like to see it with more content and more details.

                  Hugs.

Yep, it really adds a lot of depth to the castle. I feel that changing the castle would only be Disneyland trying to catch up to WDW (which I believe is completely backwards), but if it had to happen, I'd rather see depth over height.

The photo is not realistic. The blue are brighter and richer along with the pinks. The colors have been adjusted. Also the framing of the Castle by the trees seems to make it look taller.

The colors of that castle-with or without the float in front--make the structure far too "cartooney." That's not a castle--it's a charicature--and a bad one at that.

Also if you look into the background you can see the canopy from the Fantasyland Theatre on the left. This image was definitely "enhanced" with all the technology these days Disneyland sure can "sparkle"

I like the color of Sleeping Beauty Castle as it is now. The original white-ish wasn't as striking to me as it is now.
