[Question] Some things that are a must buy?

Hey everyone! I've fully paid off my Disneyland trip in September, and now have started saving money to spend. I've saved a fair bit, can anyone tell me somethings that are really good purchases? I've put away some money to buy a partners statue, but I was wondering if there's anything that I should put on my list?? Thanks!

We dont buy much, but we have bought the splash mountain picture. Try to make sure you are in the first row so the camera can get a clean shot.

We also have bought the picture in front of the castle.

our daughter loves the princess dresses. The quality of the ones in the park seems better than the quality in regular stores.

My wife and I only collect two things, pictures and a magnet. We dont want a bunch of junk cluttering the house.

A turkey leg is always a must buy for every DLR trip. So delicious.

That and dole whips are the ultimate for food.

As far as souvenirs go, the cone souvenir bottles at Cars Land are an awesome gift as well.

Something that is super popular with my peers is getting a leather bracelet in Frontierland. It's really a rite of passage. If you don't have one around here, some people assume you haven't been there. :P

A corn dog from the little red wagon on Main Street is always a nice treat. If you are thinking of doing any pin trading you will want to pick up some of them as well.

Just about the only souvenirs we really make sure to get every trip are ear hats. They are a great keepsake and they have lots to choose from.

I AGREE! Yum! I always ALWAYS get a new pin... man did Disney suck me in with those! I remember when they first started... well when I first vividly recall them being sold, I was a CP at WDW and my friends and I made fun of all the people who bought pins, like really? thats what you're spending your money on? Metal pins? And yet... by time the program was over I had a ton of pins opps!

I always buy a new Ariel pin if there is a new one... and/or another pin to commemorate whatever event is happening for us while we're there I put them all on a napkin I stole from the blue bayou (forgive me please! I was young! and took napkins from fancy restaurants to recall them). It's my favorite thing in the world I remember where and when I got each pin

We buy pins, sweets from the shop by pooh, and we each pick out something "expensive" (definition is different for everyone) from world of Disney. Last trip I got a beautiful purse and matching wallet and the DBF got a really nice sweatshirt.

Thanks everyone! And I agree, churros, and dole whips are something I absolutely CANNOT go without on my trip. I just need ideas for gifts for my family, my sister loved the mood bracelet I got her last time!

The only thing that is a "must buy" at Disneyland is a park ticket. The memories you receive from that little piece of paper are more important than anything tangible you could leave with.

My dauther has made a purchase of cotton candy a requirement. I have made an imediate trip to the bathroom to wash up a requirement.

recently my family has started buying candy from the candy shop in Critter Country a tradition every trip... not sure why it started, but we do it now, haha

also, we used to buy fantasia ice cream every time, but now they don't make it anymore

Some things I find to be quintessential Disneyland things are those giant lollipops, packaged baked goods, pins, magnets, and photo frames/holders.

Personally - we like the goodluck/back key chains (vinylmation), the pirates vinylmation and the starwars vinyl mation.

My wife liked the little mad hatter hats (hatter, cheshire and tink i think)

and our daughter gets different wearables - ears, hats, sweaters, leather bracelet.

BUT we ALWAYS have certain pictures we take in our favorite places...

when I have extra money I usually buy one pin for every visit. The different styles and themes of pins should be perfect to give as a souvenir to your family members, at least in my opinion. if you do decide to buy pins for a family member back home be sure it has some recognition of Disneyland if they want one like that. perhaps a ride that is only found at DLR, like the Matterhorn. I remember when my Aunt when to Walt Disney World and decided to buy me some pins for souvenirs, I was hoping for ride pins that can only be found at WDW. but she gave me generic character pins that could also be bought at DLR. sorry if I sound unappreciated, it just made me a bit dissapointed. I still have some of them though as I traded a few of them. one of them I actually traded with someone who had an EPCOT pin at DLR.

I'd say:

-Disneyland official soundtrack cd
- at least one replica attraction poster
- ears with your name on it
- one apparel (shirt, jacket, etc)
