News New Halloween offerings coming to DCA!

Prior to Disneyland’s princess and parade hype for 2013, there will be several new offerings coming this fall and winter, primarily aimed at DCA. First up will be a new Halloween promotion this fall for DCA that features the Tim Burton film Frankenweenie. The underutilized MuppetVision theater will receive a themed overlay for the film and a 3-D preview will be shown, while across the way at the Animation Pavilion an art and technical exhibit will be set up explaining how the 3-D stop motion process works, and how Tim Burton creates his unique film environments.

So excited for this! I really like Halloweentime at dlr and transference is perfect for Dca.

So is MuppetVision getting an entirely new movie for Halloween or is it just a preview. Otherwise, I am so happy that Disney is bringing the holidays to DCA in a new way.

Seems like both! I think disney should keep the overlay year round if the movies is successful,
frankenweenie is a much better fit for hollywood land than muppetvision.

^yeah...i know....I mean come on THIS is what we want

We want WOC to give us new shows every few months but guess they are going to make us wait....a few more years...maybe until they feel they have enough to make TWO Halloween ticketed events and make double the money

As for the Muppets overlay...i guess it will be cool...but I don't know was the Tron Preview really that cool? I mean sounds like a good idea for a few hours but ALL day?

Yeah I saw the Tron preview once. It was cool using Muppet Vision's 4D effects with it. But other than that it wasn't worth repeated viewings. Even though I loved TRON: Legacy. Will be interesting to see what they do with Frankenweenie.

This sounds like the setup that they had at San Diego Comic Con. They had a giant exhibit set up with showing how the process was filmed, complete with character pieces, etc. I bet this will be some of the same stuff and setup.

^that stuff will be cool for sure, kinda like how they brought the arcade from Tron from comic con to DCA smarter then just using it once

In the Tim Burton fan realm, it's very popular since it's a stop action reboot of his 1984 short film version.

It is the same exhibit. The tour dates included an undisclosed Anaheim location.

I was told it is just a "4-D" movie trailer tacked on to the Muppet film that plays there daily. It has its' own tangible overlay and a 4 min trailer of Frankenweenie, then on to the regular program.

Anyone have clarification on this? Is it just a 4-D trailer playing before the muppet film? Is it 4 min long?

BTW, The fact that Disney doesn't have an end date for the installation/set up tells me that they are flying by the seat of their pants and they do not know when they can soft open this promo overlay.

I would be really disappointed if that was it. It just sounds very tacky, MuppetVision 3D featuring...frankenweenie. I hope this is false, I was really looking foward to this.

Im not really sure it is "featuring", the way it was explained to me was that it was a decked out theater and more like a "coming to a theater near you" trailer. I know this doesn't help much, but I only know limited info. Looking for more... anyone? Is it just an ad for the movie?
