  • [Question] Weird issue with "GWTS" Ear Hats

I got a pair of the Glow with the Show Ear Hats at the AP Event. A few weeks afterwards I turned them on and notice they were flashing really fast and I could not turn them off. I took the batteries out and placed them back in and they automatically came on. I took the batteries out for 15 minutes and placed them back in and they came right back on, but this time I was able to turn them off. Same thing happened again yesterday.

Also last night my girlfriend told me that hers automatically came on and she could not turn them off. She just let the batteries die.

Has anyone else experienced this yet? Either with the free ones or bought ones? Or is Disney sending us signals to buy more churros?

it's Disney's way of spying on us. There is a hidden camera that watches us. Haha.
My kids Ferbys used to turn on for no reason and start talking. They hid it in the closet with blankets over it until is died.

Strange you should mention that. Just last night, I got home from work to find one of the hats was blinking and I wasn't able to turn it off. It's on the top of a dresser and no one touched it. It must have come on by itself and it must have been going for a while because they LEDs were very dim. In the end, I pulled the batteries out. When I put the batteries back in, it came back on and I couldn't turn it off.

I haven't tried putting fresh batteries in it yet.

Mine are the free ones from the Glow with the Show event as well.

They are spying on us and giving us subliminal messages, "Buy Pocahontas on BluRay August 22nd"

Same thing with my girlfriend. They were just sitting on the dresser and randomly came on. I joked and said it was because she lived so close to Disneyland.

With the Ferby issue wondering if it could be other frequencies causing the issues or maybe the cheap batteries in the hats.

My friend and I received the free GWTS hats yesterday and his would turn off automatically and my would turn on automatically. Maybe disney was getting creative with getting rid of defective merch.

I don't think so. I'm thinking that it's the technology that's freaking out on you. Probably has something to do with radio frequencies.

That's possible too. lol At any rate it's kind of amusing to see the ears twitching out lol.

Maybe they just want a head to sit on.:thumbup:

this happened to all three of the hats in my house last week. (all at different times of course) I just left them on in a corner until the batteries died out. I haven't tried replacing the batteries yet.

Too crazy! My partner and I got a pair at the 6/14 media day and my ears turn on automatically. I keep turning them off and have had problems keeping them off. There definitely is something up since many of us have the same problem.

I think that when the batteries are getting close to dying, they don't turn off until the battery is dead.
