[Question] Sept. 6,2012

Some friends of mine are going to Disneyland the first week in September. They had made a reservation at Blue Bayou at 5:10 for the 6th. They just received a call that they would need to change the reservation as Disneyland was closing at 5 that day. According to their website they are open until 8. They are curious as to why Disneyland would be closing early that day. I told them I would go to my go to place and try and find out. Any clues?

And now they just updated their website to show they are closing at 5.

On Thursday, September 6, Disneyland hosts a cast member recognition event that includes a "red carpet arrival," dinner, "multiple themed celebration zones," dancing "under the stars," and special entertainment. The event begins at 7:30 p.m., and sources tell us Disneyland closes as early as 5 p.m. that evening, with Disney California Adventure remaining open until 8 p.m.
