obviously whatever it winds up being is meant to rival Harry Potter. They are freeing up a VERY LARGE portion of land for it.....what do you guys think they are planning?

Re: What do you think is coming to Tomorrowland?
Before Cars Land, I'd be more cynical. But from what I understand, the Disney suits were pleasantly surprised by the massive success of Cars Land. I've been told by several sources (some in the "know") that the company is done doing things cheaply. They're prepared to invest the right amount of money into the park. So, whatever it is, I think it will be awesome.http://micechat.com/forums/disneylan...oto-heavy.html

Hopefully Marvel. (Unless they go through with the Marvel 3rd gate rumor which would be even better)

I think Marvel is coming to Tomorrowland, whether that means Ironman or Avengers. I am 99% certain that Disneyland's next E ticket will be Marvel-based.'The Annette Funicello Research Fund' | http://annetteconnection.com/How-to-Help.php - please consider donating today to help fight MS.

I hope they will build a Technopolis. A self-contained "city of the future" in which everything is high-tech, including the attraction waiting procedures (virtual lines, where your place in line is remembered by the attraction's computer rather than you having to stand in line). Sophisticated food ordering and delivery systems like the "Jetsons" would have. Several E-ticket-level attractions, and I would choose to base one on WALL-E, a newfangled version of Adventure thru Inner Space, and maybe a time-travel attraction ("a billion years into your imagination"). I would keep Space Mountain, but evict Star Tours to DCA. And I would have everything solar powered with solar panels on the rooftops.

Re: What do you think is coming to Tomorrowland?
I was always under the impression that Cars Land was Disney's answer to Orlando's WWoHP, and in turn Hollywood's WWoHP was the answer to Cars Land. Anyways, I'd put my money on an Avengers ride. For some reason I can't see that third park being built anytime soon, at least until Disney buys the land in between Toy Story and the parks. If we're talking about the Autopia removal rumor, the old Fantasyland Autopia land could very well be used for a Fantasyland E-Ticket (which I'm hoping for), while the area by Innoventions could be used for the Avengers ride.

Specifically, the Coruscant Speeders attraction.
How it would work is that they would tear down Innoventions, and perhaps commandeer the massive loading area for Autopia (perhaps moving the loading area to Fantasyland and retheming this ride) I guess for a massive queue, (I'm trying to see how moving Autopia might be involved in this). Remember, Autopia's load area isn't on top of the subs, so its usable land.
Basically, they would remodel (or more likely rip out) the People Mover track so it could handle two tracks of vehicle. For the outside portion of the track your cruising along seeing the sights of Tomorrowland, almost like you're on one of the hoover vehicles seen in whatever one of the Star Wars films. Probably they would upgrade Tomorrowland to add futuristic sights and stuff. Not sure how fast, but I figure at least faster than the old People Mover.
This wouldn't be the Rocket Rods, but it would add atmosphere to Tomorrowland. Inside former people mover portions of the ride would be redone with droids, other animatronics, to build the suspense, and be part of the story.
The real E-Ticket portion of the ride would be inside of a remade Innoventions which would be remade to provide a nice Star Wars-esque backdrop for Jedi Training Academy. Basically, it would involve new technology and you'd move through scenes of a futuristic Coruscant and past real mockups of Star Wars spaceships inside of a "hanger bay" for you to weave around, probably plunging to the futuristic street below. The ride would speed up, but mostly importantly, the nose of the craft would "dive" up and down, giving you the sensation that you're going to fall out. Oh, and something about encountering an alien in the "underground sewers of Coruscant". Not so sure what that would mean . . .
Heard this from a big Star Wars fan friend of mine who has connections and told me that because Star Tours goes to "outer space", they wanted to try something new for the second Star Wars ride, which would be themed around Coruscant (futuristic super city), and which would utilize a lot of animatronic droids to help sell it, in addition to having a scene in the new ride where you zoom through the Jedi Academy and see trainees practicing with lightsabers. I think WDI could pull this off, if you don't slow down to much to see they are animatronics.
He also said that the old People Mover station would be rethemed to look like a Space port, with mock-ups of spaceships sitting on what would become a land pad I guess on top, and that the Tomorroland Terrace would be completely rethemed into a Star Wars eatery. Not sure what type.
This was maybe half a year ago, not sure if they will do it, or how far this idea got.Last edited by chesirecat; 08-02-2012, 09:09 PM.

Maybe I'm alone in this thought but I could care less if the E-ticket turned out to be Avengers or Wreck it Ralph themed. All I really want the most is for the People Mover to come back!!Many Bothans died to bring you these fastpasses.

Re: What do you think is coming to Tomorrowland?
If what I've been hearing from "insiders" for months is correct (that it's going to be crazy awesome), who cares! Disneyland even with a crappy Tomorrowland is 100 times better than DCA (it's improved but you still cant beat Disneyland sorry DCA). Imagine how amazing it's going to be if Tomorrowland's update brings it up to the standards of the 1970's Tomorrowland. If not, they can't really do a whole lot to really screw it up worse unless they throw princesses and pirates in the middle of it. I'm optimistic about Tomorrowland and hopefully no matter what it gets hopefully there is a great big beautiful Tomorrowland in the works.

I expect a daring creative set of attractions not necessarily franchised or movie based, a good sit down restaurant, no arcade (please), and a nod to some of the old Tomorrowland (PeopleMover would be nice).I am old. But still love Disneyland.
