  • [Fun] Yeah, they said THAT!

Today, my daughters and I were on ALice in Wonderland, when it shut down. Our vehicle stopped right after we got back into the building, facing that face of Cheshire Cat, and the lights came on, with the obligatory announcement to stay put.

We were sitting there for a moment or two, staring at that face, when my 9-year-old daughter commented matter of factly, "Well, that's just plain freaky."
I don't know why, but it just struck me as really funny. I turned into one of those quotes we repeated throughout the day.

What are some of the funny/quirky things you've heard (or even said yourself) at the parks? With all those people there flapping their gums, there must be a lot said that's humerous or cringe-worthy.

That Winnie the Pooh ride sure is trippy. It's like an acid trip.

When my daughter was 2 we did the Little Mermaid meet n greet when she had the full tail and everything and my daughter was so in awe she could hardly speak (which she did quite well especially for 2) and when Ariel asked ner what she had been doing my daughter replyed "I was having sex with Nana and Papa" all of us looked at her in horror when I realized she had said "snacks". Very memerable moment so much so when the CM was later playing Aurora at the Ariel's grotto princess dinner she sat down at the table and call my daughter by name. She made my little girl feel so special.
BGood! It's not just my motto its my name!

Overhead, "Mommy. Do we have to wait 3 hours again for the fireworks?"
"And yes, we implore EVERYBODY to follow the park rules. Having off-ride footage is great, but any still photo's or video's taken ON the coasters at SFMM are strictly against the rules. They are there for your (and everybody's) safety." "Six Flags doesn't allow ANY loose articles on their coasters, and they don't allow video taping on their coasters. " BUT, " This is not true. Six Flags does not allow ANY On-Ride video or pictures on the rides. The ONLY way is if you get explicit permission from Park Management." ???

While exiting the Tiki Room on a sunny, cloudless day I heard a grown man say "oh it wasn't actually raining."

Just before the end of the ride on Mr. Toad, my BFF said "oh hell!" and the car stopped...in hell! We still laugh about it!

When my daughter, now 9, was potty training, she wore pull-ups with pictures of Disney princesses. Once she was toilet trained, she went to Disneyland, and got to meet Cinderella. She proudly announced to the lovely princess, "I'm not going to pee on you!" A bit confused, Cinderella simply responded, "Oh, good."

My sister and I always make Michael Jackson jokes... But they aren't appropriate for Micechat lol...

I heard someone call Critter country Tigger land right before we walked past the sign. When they saw the sign their friend said "Wait what happened to Tigger land?"

I do not ride Tower of Terror. One day, when my wife and daughter (age 6) got in line for ToT, my daughter in her best clinical voice said "It's ok Daddy. You may one day ride the Tower of Terror and have fun..." and so on for a full three minutes, of which consisted of the ways to ride and scream on ToT.
I am old. But still love Disneyland.

My brother, when he was about 5-6 years old, was on Indiana Jones and was placed in the drivers seat. He then started to sob and proclaimed, "I don't know how to drive!!!" And wanted nothing to do with the drivers seat until a later age.

Standing in the very crowded queue for Peter Pan one of those inexplicable silences fell for a moment, and in the silence my older son's (then about 7) voice piped up...."Mommy, where do babies come from?".

My daughter 3 at the time thought POTC was pirates of the carrots and beans. Her favorite ride and why was popeye, (her grandfather) sitting on the rocking chair on the ride. Now we always say, " Hi, Popeye"

Funny! Reminds me of a story my oldest brother tells about from when he was roughly same age but instead it was the Motorboat Cruise. He went with my dad and my dad let him ride alone while he waited. My brother gets on the ride and is having a great time until he reaches the part where the rocks were. He started to think "Oh no I'm going to hit the rocks. Dad is going to kill me if I damage this boat!" He tried to steer and couldn't. And then it occurred to him, "Dang! This thing's on tracks!"

To this day my daughter calls the graveyard scene in the HM "themonsterssocialize" all one word...

I don't know why she calls it that but it always brings a smile to my face

reading these has given me a good laugh )

this wasn't probably funny, but it was to me

A bratty little girl who was around 8 was trying to take a picture with Snow White. She didn't understand the concept of waiting your turn, and her parents weren't intervening.

"take a picture with ME, Snow White, MEEEE!"
she was being obnoxious, jumping in front of other people's photo ops, tugging on her dress, screaming that it was her turn.

Snow White was being patient and well, princess like, until it had gone on for about ten minutes, and then she bent down to the little girl's level.

Her voice was calm but stern, and her eyes looked like she was ready to kill the girl...
"Listen. It is not your turn. All these people are waiting in line. You need to wait your turn in line if you want a picture. Nobody wants to listen to you screaming it's not nice."

Turns back to crowd of people watching them
Best princess high pitched voice "Okay? Thank you princess! "
                                    I lol'd

I'll chime in with something (I thought was) cringe-worthy. Two people in the Haunted Mansion queue were talking about HM as if it was built *after* the movie and were wondering why it didn't have the jokey atmosphere of the movie and why they left Eddie Murphy out of it. Ick.
