Sorry... I am new to this site and all of the acronyms are killing me. Is there a list of them somewhere for easy reference????

Re: Mice Chat Acronyms????
I wish people would spell out the phrase the first time in their post unless it's extremely common (like DLR is Disneyland Resort, WDW, DCA...) and then abbreviate it later on. If it's been explained in the thread before, it's fine to go ahead and abbreviate, but there has got to be a limit.I've been here for a few months and still struggle with some of the acronyms people use here. Don't feel bad, tensixmom!

Re: Mice Chat Acronyms????
DD DH DS killed me for a long time! Would have never guessed this was daughter husband and son with Disney attachednto the front! So I agree other then attractions and resorts most of the abrevations seem unnessesary to me.BGood! It's not just my motto its my name!

Re: Mice Chat Acronyms????
DH, DS, DD, etc. are standard internet usage for dear husband, darling husband, or d*mn husband depending on your context. It's used all over the place and has nothing to do with Disney. Nobody uses "H" for a husband who ISN'T a Disney fan. It does not carry a Disney connotation.
I know the acronyms can be overwhelming. For someone who's been poking around on the internet since the early 90s, it's hard to remember that people may not get everything. Don't feel foolish about asking.

Re: Mice Chat Acronyms????
Other than the most common web acronyms, I think it is best to first spell out the term and then use acronyms in the rest of the text. I've found this to be standard operation in the business world and it makes for a clearer document and prevents confusion and possible misunderstanding.

Re: Mice Chat Acronyms????
yeah I didn't get the DH, DD, DS son thing for awhile.
why call them dear I don't get it, they aren't that hard to type out
it sounds old fashioned or something.
i also didn't understand some of the long ride name acronyms, but it isn't hard to figure it out once you get the hang of it:
ex: TOT obviously = Tower of Terror

Re: Mice Chat Acronyms????
As others have said, some acronyms are fine (DL or DCA) but I don't care for overly long acronyms... the likes of JttCotE (Journey to the Centre of the Earth (Tokyo DisneySea)), naturally not something you want to type out every time, but surely its easier to just type 'Journey'?
Its funny how some attractions become acronyms in forums, ie. ToT whereas some don't - Indy.
And on a separate note that whole "DD/DH" thing really grinds my gears. Just had to get that off my chest![/mini rant over]
But hey, each to their own and all that.sigpic
