[Idea] Donald sunburst on Screamin' shield!

Mickey's happy "sunburst" face has really improved the look of the DCA ferris wheel and turned a sow's ear into a park icon, but that scream shield on the coaster next door still looks cheap and awful with the generic painted sun on it.

How about adding the matching Donald sunburst on the Screamin' loop to compliment the wheel - - it's slightly smaller, so perfect for subordinate visual relation to Mickey.

Hmmmm... It's an novel idea. But it would be kind of an overkill having both.

Poor Donald's star has fallen in recent years as the company has not promoted him or given the public wide access to his cartoon or comic classics. It would be nice to see him repositioned in a way that respects his importance to Disney's history (and hopefully, future).

I think having his face where the sunburst is would be a little out of place on California Screamin. Mickey's face makes sense because it matches the name and theme of the ride. California Screamin's theme has nothing to do with Donald Duck.

Isn't Donald's face on one of the gondolas of Mickey's Fun Wheel as well?

I like the sunburst much better. It provides a better canvas to project things on, for WOC.

In addition, CA Adventure has done a complete scale reversal from having relatively no characters to every new ride suddenly needing a character tie-in. Screamin' is fine how it is and does not need to be tied to a character.

Awesome photo, bigcatrick, that's it! Looks great to me -- so much more personality than the blank sun. : ) Donald's traditional blue burst looks good too while Mickey's still center stage!

as a big fan of Donald Duck. I dont like the idea of putting Donald Ducks face on CS just to do it. theirs really no good reason to do it it would not help the ride tell a story and would not improve the the theme or look of the ride. To me it would be a step back to DCA 1.0

Because, for several decades, Donald was a far bigger star than Mickey -- and in terms of character, competed for attention with him on the Mickey Mouse Club, Disneyland, etc. -- not so for any of the others. This would carry on that tradition of Donald being the reluctant #2 star.

Well, the same can be said of the ferris wheel, but Mickey's face really did help it look better.

Donald would just look cool - - the current shield looks cheap and plain.

I mean....they could do a cute little story of how Donald is taking his nephews to the Pier to ride there first big roller coaster...make make the Q inside and have TV tell the story and show some old cartoons too

Maybe even have it where the paparazzi see Donald and they jump on the ride trying to get away from them...thus explaining why you get your picture

Just seems more fun then...it's just a coaster...that's the story and theme

Great idea, Jarrod -- theme the whole coaster to Donald and the duck family! I picture Donald queasy and not liking the coaster one bit while his nephews are in their glory -- and causing mischief.
