Coney Island: A Documentary with Al Lewis - YouTube
This is a great documentary about the history of early theme parks of great quality that called coney island their home. all of the extravagant details that they put into a seaside park is stunning and would Be great For Paradise Pier!

I agree. Some people here don't like the seaside theme at all because walt didn't like them and they were dirty and scary...but small town america and the old west weren't perfect either. The pier theme can be further idealized to give it that disney touch it sorely lacked.
In the quest for quality, I have no problem with the characters footing the bill.

        Re: Paradise pei= new coney!

I love Coney Island (and in fact Mickey's Fun Wheel is modeled directly after the 1920 Coney Island Wonder Wheel). I love to be in Paradise Pier at night and pretend I'm at Coney Island back in the day. A less crowded Coney Island, but still.

That said, since it's Disney California Adventure, I think they could make it into any of the many seaside parks in California, which were also lovely in their heyday. I doubt any of them came close to rivaling Coney Island as a whole...but then, there's not enough room in Paradise Pier for 1/4 of the attractions from Coney Island back in the day, either.

I certainly would not object to a retheme of Jumpin' Jellyfish.
