Last October I was lucky enough to spend six nights in Disneyland Hotel with my wife and son. As the AP was only slightly more expensive than a six day hopper, I got one for myself to benefit from the discounts.

I have now spent the intervening ten months in England with no sign and very little hope of returning to sunny California any time soon and a DL AP nestled snugly in my wallet.

This is indeed a sad story and I appreciate it if you wish to take this moment to wipe away a tear from your eye.

Now to my point....

One of the benefits listed on the AP application was a regular magazine/newsletter thing (?). The guy in the booth who arranged the purchase of my AP told me that me being a resident of another country would make no difference in receiving this. And yet I never have....

It's a small thing really. The pass paid for itself during our trip. But I would have liked the magic to live on a little longer. I have not even had any emails from DL in all this time.

Is this unusual? Are there any other foreign AP holders out there? What on earth is going on?

Did you try calling the AP line and asking directly? Writing them an email?

With cost of International call as high as they are?!?!?!?!

You could always email them. I doubt Micechat will be able to answer your question since Micechat isn't Disney customer support.

If you haven't already, create an account at the Disney AP page. You can download a pdf of the latest edition (which I believe is Winter 2011). I haven't received one in 2012. Has anyone else?

I've been a passholder since January and I've yet to get one of them and I live in Los Angeles.

you: Hi ***, I just have a small question. Passholders used to receive a newsletter a few times a year, however I have yet to receive one in 2012. Has it been phased out?
you: It is still mentioned on the website. What communications do Annual Passholders receive? Register your email with us to receive email updates on special offers, events and news for Annual Passholders. You will also receive a printed newsletter, one per Annual Passholder household, at various times throughout the year, which contain additional offers, discounts and insider information.
***: That is a very good question.
***: To the best of my knowledge, they have not yet canceled the newsletter, but I do think they are phasing it out, as everything is being done online with the Passholder News section.
you: So it's not "official" but I shouldn't expect to see one again pretty much?

Yeah I don't remember the last time I actually got a printed one in the mail. I just assumed they stopped sending them out.

The last AP newsletter is Jan-May 2012. It's on the AP section of the DL website. It's really hard to find. It's in the bottom right menu near the DL news once you get to the right page. I just tried to get back there to give you directions and I couldn't find it again. I think they might be all electronic these days. You're not missing much.
