We are going to DLR in October and I was looking up the Halloween party and was curious if you all thought it was worth the extra 64 bucks? There really wasnt too much detail on the website. There are no kids in our party, but we love the villains. Is there an abundance of villains out and other characters or the same amount there would be on a normal day? What else is there to do? All feedback is helpful thank you so much!!!

We don't go with any kids either by the way. If we did, we would probably spend more time in the trick or treat lines, some of which have high quality candy and Ghirardelli chocolate.

Re: Mickey's Halloween Party
I LOVE Mickey's Halloween Party! Depending on when you go the lines can be slightly shorter than usual or walk on throughout the party. The trick or treat stations give you a crap load of candy! (my family ended up with over 80 pounds of sugary goodness). Some of the costumes are absolutely fantastic (last year a whole group dressed up as Main Street Electrical Parade floats complete with audio system and light up consumes). I highly recommend it.

Re: Mickey's Halloween Party
mickey's halloween party really is a ton of fun. The entire park turns into a great party atmosphere! Lines are shorter, except for maybe the halloween themed rides and you can get great viewing for an amazing fireworks show just minuets before the show begins. Tons of characters out in their halloween bestIf you never been I would say it definitely worth checking out

Re: Mickey's Halloween Party
Lines are shorter?? Maybe compared to the current wait for Radiator Springs Racers.
I went last year in early October. On a Tuesday. I thought it would not be a very busy night.
I was wrong.
Fast Pass is not available, so every attraction had a long wait. Mansion used its extended queue. Space Mountain was backed up all the way to the top deck. Star Tours was relatively quick, but still about 45 minutes. All of the attractions had much shorter waits after Fireworks, when parents took the little ones home - I was able to book over to Mansion as the fireworks were ending and walked on.
Lines for meet-and-greets ran about 45 minutes. Jack and Sally were next to Cafe Orleans. Pirates were set up in the Mark Twain dock. A rotating cast of four villains were over on Small World way. And Mickey and Minnie were in costume at Big Thunder Ranch.
Lines for trick-or-treat were extreeeemely long and snaked throughout the park, often disguising which were the attraction lines and which were the candy lines.
All told, I'd probably do it again. $64 is a BARGAIN compared to the current day prices, and you can enter the park three hours before the party start time, giving you about 8 hours for the money. PLUS you can wear costumes.

Re: Mickey's Halloween Party
My son and I went early October last year as well and had almost exactly the same experience as Doug. We only did a few lines for candy, loaded up as we left the park, CM's had several carts at the exits. Ride lines were shortest right when the party started and like Doug said after the fireworks.
Going again on the 12th. Might be solo for a few hours on the evening of the 11th if anyone wants to shoot photos. They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night. ~Edgar Allan Poe

Word of advice though, avoid the weekend of October 19th. That is UEA break and all utah schools are out so the busy can be very busy during that weekend.

OMG why does this happen to me everytime I book a visit. Last time I wasnt aware it was presidents day and it was crazy busy. We are going the 18th-20th. Do we need to purchase tickets and the 64 halloween ticket/? Now I am confused. We were going to buy the 3 day hopper and buy the 64 halloween ticket for our second day. I was under the impression we had to have both.
I know this is a lot of questions. I thought we could go o disneyland all day and then at a certain time they would only allow the halloween party ticket holders to stay.

Re: Mickey's Halloween Party
If you want to go to the Halloween party you will need to buy at ticke for the party. Do not wait untill you get to DL to buy the halloween party tickets, last year we talked to 2 families that had waited untill that day and found out they were sold out.
The halloween party ticket allows you into DL 3 hours before the part, on Fridays that means you can enter DL with a costume on at 4pm, on the other days it will be 3 pm.
The party ticket is the only ticket you need to get into DL, but if you want to go into the park ealier then you will need a ticket (a one park or a park hopper).
The Fireworks are great, and there are 2 parades, along with meet and greet.
how you work it out is up to you, but the party is great. We are looking forward to going this year for our 3rd year in a row. We have to drive 7 hours but consider it well worth the trip. Well we also spend a few more days as well.
If you do go to the party do not miss the fireworks.
The part day goes something like this.
3 hours before the party strange people wearing costumes start invading the park, causeing some people to stare.
Get some thing to eat because most of the food places shut down during the party.
when the part starts there is a broadcast for all non party guests to start moving to the exit, but the stores will remain open to them for one hour. From that point on you usualy have to show your wrist band untill they are sure the non party guests have left.
Now the fun begins, main streat has all kinds of projections on the buildings. the rivers of america are now foggy, it is a very different feeling than during the day.
The meet and greet has many villians that you normaly do not see.
But the biggest is you can wear a costume in the park. Make sure that it fits with int the guidelines. Make sure you get a photopass, last year they were running a discount on the photospass for that night.
Not everyone is in a costume, some just dress up like regular people, others go over the top. Some of the best cosutmes that I have ever seen have been at the party. We find ourselves watching the other guests as we walk around. We have missed some great photos becuase we were not fast enough with the camera.
Is it worth the price we think so but you have to make up your owne mind.
We have already bought our tickets for Oct 9th. Have fun and plan according to what you feel is best.

Re: Mickey's Halloween Party
The normal park ticket gets you in from park opening until park closing (at 6:00 or 7:00 depending on the day). The Mickey's Halloween Party ticket gets you in the park 3 hours prior to the party start time (3:00 or 4:00 respectively). The party lasts until 11:00 or 12:00 (also depending on the day). If you want to go the entire day to Disneyland, you will need to purchase Disneyland normal tickets aswell as Mickey's Halloween Party tickets. However, if you are making a trip down to California and have transportation, I would recommend only purchasing the Party Ticket and checking out some other SoCal entertainment offerings during the day and doing the party that night. This way you are more likely to feel like you got your money's worth rather than spending $125 for a one day park hopper as well as $64. Most can't seem to bare spending $189 (plus tax) for what amounts to be a normal 8:00 am - 12:00 am plus a few special offerings. Another bonus is the free parking for one vehicle that comes with each ticket (I'm not sure if this is valid all day or just before the party). More info can be found here Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland Park

Re: Mickey's Halloween Party
When does it start getting crowded with party guests? If it starts at 7pm I know they can start entering at 4pm. Do alot of people show up early or is it more spread out or more crowded later that evening? Where do you get the wristband, at the Turnstile? We are going for the first time Friday Sept 28.

Re: Mickey's Halloween Party
Question. If a guest enters the park early using his party ticket, can he/she exit and re-enter or are they stuck in the park?
I ask because we plan to go to the park 3 hours before the party (4pm) for a bit, then exit and have dinner at Steakhouse 55, then re-enter the park for the remainder of the party.
Is this possible?

Re: Mickey's Halloween Party
^^I believe that you can exit with a handstamp just like any normal ticket, but I would check with Disney.

Re: Mickey's Halloween Party
Was there in early October last year (same night as Doug I believe). It was MEGA BUSY.
I heard a CM comment during the fireworks that it was 'worse than New Years'!
The queues were all long particularly for the M&Gs.
On the plus side, the candy stations were fast and generous, the extra theming was excellent and the parade was fun (and included Miss Piggy!).
A tip - go to the gate end of Main Street for the best view of the fireworks and more importantly to avoid the crushing crowdsWDW - 1987 & 1991

Re: Mickey's Halloween Party
I have yet to go to the Disneyland Halloween Party but I was able to go for the WDW Halloweentime party and LOVED every minute! It's a great experience and, I feel, well worth the extra money. Just be sure to get your ticket to the evening you want to attend soon! There are certain days that sell out before others.
Have a great time!<3 There are a million cupcakes in the world but only one is Cupcake Terror. <3
