Does anyone know why I saw a bunch of cast members in civies on main street today? They were all down the middle of the street greeting guests. I also saw more than usual walking around the park as well. Is there an initiative going on?

Re: Civies on main street?
civies = civilian clothes. they weren't in a themed uniform. While I do agree they were most likely management of some kind, I still thought it odd they were out there on main street at noon with mickey hands on greeting guests. The same way themed cast members do at rope drop.

Re: Civies on main street?
Maybe the people above them wanted them to 'get out in the real world'. Not that a few hours of saying hello does that, unless they are actually talking to guests & asking questions about their experiences. Upper management where I worked (before I retired, yay) used to tell the supervisors to go out & work with our public once in a while to remind them what we had to deal with so they could 'relate to their staff'. Didn't work. LOL"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

Re: Civies on main street?
There was a book signing yesterday that probably finished up around Noon. Tony Baxter was one of the signers. Perhaps he went out to "press the flesh." There were a good number of cast members "in civies" falling all over themselves at the signing.Skiddley Whiffers is a cruel mistress; cold and unforgiving.

Re: Civies on main street?
It is part of a new class. Many of those CMs in 'civies' are leads and trainers in business casual. That's what you are seeing when there is a high number of them at once. Otherwise when there is just a few in business casual and others in costume, then it is basically of their own accords.
The vast majority of them enjoy doing it and it is in no way punishment or anything negative."If we cut the budget are you going to be the one standing at the exit explaining to guests why the ride they just rode is a piece of crap?" - - John Lasseter
