I always went out thefront of paradise pier hotel and into the grand californian. it leads to DCA right off the bat but if you do not want to go that rout you have to walk down the street and walk into the down town disney part and walk alll......... the way into thru there and up to disneyland. to me, a long............ walk thank goodness for DCA and the grand Californian.

There's a walkway that leads to DTD. From there go to the Monorail station
        or walk to the entrance.

We've been staying in the Sierra Tower for the past few years, but when we did stay at PP, we either used the "private" entry gate (now closed???) or walked over to the GCH and went through their entry gate into DCA or through the lobby into DTD. Or, we would just walk along the pathway to DTD and take the Monorail in. We used to catch the tram which was using the parking lot behind the PP, but they stopped using it.

Any way you look at it, you're walking...

I know that walkway, and I can't believe that Disney expects people to use it.

Can't Disney open the area between the Lego Imagination Center and Starabilias so that guests do not have to walk all the way around the theatres?

Re: How Do Paradise Pier Hotel Guests Get to Disneyland?

There were a few ways to do it when we stayed there in 2001:
-At the time Paradise Pier Hotel had its own entrance into DCA, fittingly enough, into the Route 66 area (I think this is gone now or has been closed for quite some time) so you could enter there, trek through DCA, exit, and go to Disneyland.
-Walk through the Grand Californian Hotel and do the same thing.
-Walk to Downtown Disney and ride the Monorail.
              -Walk all the way there...

I remember going in 2003 and staying at the GCH. The most unfortunate thing is that since we went for 12/26-12/30, we always made sure to be in Disneyland later in the evening. Since DCA closed earlier, that meant having to walk all the way through the esplanade and parts of Downtown Disney to get back to our hotel...

What I have always wanted to know is where is the private entrance into DCA for Paradise Pier Hotel guests. I know it is closed but I never knew where it was.

It was near Dinosaur Jack's Sunglass Shack.

                  Why was it closed?

I think it was closed because it was rarely used.

You don't want guest back there, it's an employee break area, and it's 'bad show'. Plus there;s a parking lot in between, and you don't want to have people competing with cars when you can avoid it.

I remember that we didn't even discover the PPH entry until a couple of days into our trip.

Not necessarily ..... some of the hotels on the East side of Harbor are closer to the esplanade than the PP ........

Does it have to remain an employee lounge or could that area be moved to a space behind the cinemas?

There is a public sidewalk that lines Disneyland Drive. Why can't there be a parallel sidewalk that runs along one side of the Grand Californian parking area? And, aren't the Grand Californian's cars parked by valets, anyway?

There is a crosswalk that is controlled by a traffic signal near the hotel, so I do not see how the multiple crosswalks around the traffic circle and not controlled by traffic signals are any better.
