[Question] Hours change?

I was looking at the park calendar for September and saw that it said it could open/close at different times. Do they change it based on attendance for the day or something?

Typical September Hours (subject to change):
Monday through Thursday

• Disneyland Park
• Opens 9:00 or 10:00 a.m.
• Closes 8:00 or 10:00 p.m.
• Disney California Adventure Park
• Opens 9:00 or 10:00 a.m.
• Closes 8:00 or 10:00 p.m.

From what I see it says Early Admission Hours and then shows something like 9:00 to 10:00 AM which means normal entry is at 10:00.

It says that the park will close at 8 when I will be there, I was just curious about the closing at either 8 or 10. Are they meaning that during the week they will close at 8, and then on the weekend close at 10?

What I'm more curious about, is that if they say they are closing at 8, but the park is pretty full, is it possible they may extend the hours until 10 sometimes? That may be silly, but I was just wondering because closing at 8 seems kind of early to me.

Hours are set a couple months ahead. In busy periods with long hours in quiet peiods with short hours and in moderate time medium hours. Weekends inscluding Friday are busier than weekdays which is why thier hours very when not in peak seasons.

It's very rare that at the last moment the parks hours change. Also rare is when the park is busy or quiet the add or cut hours of entertainment. I wouldn't expect anything to change on your visit.

The year that Halloween Screams debuted, when it was still free for all guests, they extended closing from 8:00 to 9:00 at least once due to the crowds.

I believe they've also closed early when there is heavy rain and the crowds are almost non-existant.

It's rare, but it does happen. 8:00 closings are standard in the off-season, so don't expect a change while you're there. Also keep in mind that DCA used to typically close at 6:00 (pre World of Color if I'm not mistaken), so the increased hours there help handle the crowds and reduces the likelihood that Disneyland would need to stay open later.
