[Question] Issues with the October military tickets?

Has anyone else tried to get the Disneyland tickets for the October military promotion? The website said they were set to go live on 8/17 and when I went to MWR on base yesterday to get mine the guy said he was told they weren't renewing the discounted tickets past the current batch they had for September. As a result I wasn't able to get them yesterday.

Anyone else have a similar issue so far or am I still trying to get them a little too early? I am going to CA the first week of October so I wanted to have the tickets in hand sooner rather than later.

Maybe an issue with your MWR? Call DL and ask or a different bases MWR... I've had an MWR run out of tickets because they only buy x amount.

Yeah I'll have to give Disney a call and/or call the bases in Colorado Springs to see if they have them. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just my base. Most people working in the small buildings like MWR are civilians and they don't know what they are talking about half the time.

So they are extending the offer past September?. Maybe the civilians in your base are not really civilians. Maybe they are prior or retired mil. Our civilians here do an amazing job at supporting us . Anything we ask of them, they'll get it done.

Yeah I just went to my base ticket sales and they said they don't have the tickets available yet but to keep calling. They will have them before October 1. That's when the offer starts.

If I have to wait until October to get them I'm going to get screwed and have to try and buy them from the Disneyland box office. I fly to CA on the 29th of September.

I have everything done but my 3-day Park Hopper. This is frustrating.

for 99 dollars for a 3day hopper id stand to be frustrated for a bit. Thats a great deal and i think from what i read you know you can also get them at the park also

I went back to MWR yesterday and they said the screw up is on Disney's side. They claimed Disney released the promo information before the tickets were made available and that it would still be a couple weeks.

This is what confuses me... I think Disney knows better than to release information saying tickets for October will be available starting 8/17 and then not make the tickets available on that date. I think my base is late to the show and are deciding to just say it's Disney's screw up. Has anyone else eligible to get military tickets been able to so far?

I keep trying to find a way to help you out. Los Angeles AFB is just a few miles from LAX. Their Tickets and Tours still shows 3 day Military Appreciation Hoppers for $95. If you were flying into LAX you could swing by and grab some. They're

I was planning on making a trip down to the Air Force Academy and figured it they don't have the tickets there I might wait and get them at Los Angeles AFB.

Can Disney tickets be purchased at the disneyland hotel if we are guests there? If so, do they have certain hours when they sell them?

I think you can only pick up tickets at a Disney hotel if you previously booked a vacation package online or over the phone. Other than that I believe all tickets are sold at the Disneyland Box Office. You can also buy the eTickets online or at a Disney Store but that won't get you a military discount if that's what you are after.

And speaking of the discounted tickets, I still haven't been able to buy mine. I checked all 4 bases in Colorado and each one of the MWR offices told me Disney jumped the gun on the dates. They said 8/17 was the date where they went live at the Disney Box Office but they have yet to release the promo codes to the bases so they can't order the tickets. The way it's looking I might just have to run to Disneyland when I get my rental car and just buy them there.

Hey thanks for the reply. I went to the base ticket sales and they said to check again around mid september. I got my fingers crossed. I would hate to have to waste time at the ticket counter. The day after we arrive there. My daughters have an itinerary I have to follow,lol.

They told me to check back the first week of September down at the Air Force Academy so I am going to do that tomorrow or Wednesday. No one is there today since it's Labor Day.

Hopefully I'll be able to get them before I leave but I am not holding my breath.

Just an FYi, military tickets CAN be purchased at Disneyland ticket booths at the park. You must provide your military ID and I believe there is a 6ticket max. Purchase. My brother is in the Army and out here for leave and purchased two at separate times at the gates. No need to go on base for them. Hope that helps! They are such a great deal!

Yes, they are available at the park ticket booths. The downside for those who aren't in California is just that fact... not everyone who can utilize the deal is in California.

I was able to order/buy my tickets at MWR yesterday. If you have been waiting to buy the military tickets like I have I would check your local base now. I guess the girl at the Air Force Academy was right in telling me to check back after Labor Day.

Probably my last update with this thread...

Anyone wanting the military tickets for October needs to forget about buying them on base. I received a phone call like 3 days after buying my tickets saying I needed to come back to be refunded because they aren't able to order the tickets. They instructed me to buy them at the ticket office when I get there.
I don't know where the disconnect has been or who's end it is on but this has been a ridiculous situation. If you were planning on utilizing this promotion, like me, don't bother going on base to get them. Just wait until you are there and buy the tickets at the park.
