  • [Question] WoC Picnic

Is it worth it? Is the food good? Or is it better just to get a FP?

I don't have much to contribute other then....I've read the food is good and my CM friend said that it's worth it. ::shrugs:: And she really recommended the Carthay deal.

Well since they restructured where you sit, I would say skip it. I can't remember which zone you get but it's the same as the fast pass. The Blue Zone is now reserved for the Dinners (but not the picnic) so IMO you can just get a FP and save $ for the food. Just line up early once you have your FP to get the a good seat in the area.

I liked it. And i don't want the "front row" we were offered, because we were early (Christmas 2010) so we backed up and above and thought we had the best viewing spot without getting sprayed.

          I think it's worth it.

The price is comparable to the rest of the meals at the park (plus drink)

The food also isn't too bad. I had the fried chicken, and at first I was skeptical because they serve it cold, but again it wasn't bad.

They also give you a collectible tote bag (if you're into that stuff)

And like the person above me posted, don't go for the front. That's the splash zone. Do the next section behind.

One more thing, get there early too. Even with fastpass a lot of people still get this reserved seating.

I agree with the last post. I've had the chicken 2 times. It's just ok. I picnic is a good back up plan if you really want to see the show and the fastpasses have run out. I think I remember still being able to buy a picnic at 4:45 one day.

Can you purchase these dinner boxes at the park?

If you mean the picnics, the answer is "yes". You can just walk up to the counter (to the left of the Trattoria) and order. I think you can even put in an order for later pick up.

Yeah I was thinking of doing the pre-order online. We'll see.

I also had another question and I don't want to make a new thread but at least its about food.

How is Big Thunder Ranch BBQ? I was looking at the lunch and it seems pretty reasonable. Any input?

In answer to the Thunder Mountain BBQ, I've had it twice and really enjoyed it. It's a lot of food and all you can eat, so go hungry. They have good bbq chicken and beef brisket (?), beans, cornbread muffins, and coleslaw?, sausage and corn-on-the-cob wheels with dinner. I think dessert is extra.

                        From what I've read online:

                        Lunch is 19.99
                        Dinner 24.99
