  • WHERE is the RSR Fastpass Distribution?

I was reading an article just now Disneyland Resort sizzles in the summer sun and it says to bypass the throngs going into Cars Land and get a FP for RSR.... but it doesn't say where the FP distribution is for it. I'm sure it's on one of these threads somewhere but I can't find it. I'm sure someone has a quick answer... thanks in advance!

Right next to the entrance of "It's Tough to Be a Bug". The entrance to the area itself is just across the parade route from the Grizzly Peak waterfall and entrance into the Golden Vine Winery.

There should be other signs and Cast Members as well, pointing out the line that will have formed. The other week when I visited it was ending on the other side of the Carthay Circle Theatre.

I sure hope I get there early enough that I don't have to wait in that!!!!

        Thanks all!

During Rope Drop the FP line is started at Carthay Theatre, and goes back toward Hollywood Land, usually all the way to ToT. When the park opens the lines is led to to the RSR FP distribution area, but is placed between the people who had EMH access and line up right from the distribution area. So the lines are combined at that point. While it may sounds crazy to be standing by ToT to get a FP that is almost half way across the park, the lines moves quickly when the park opens and only take about 20 minutes to get a FP. Now between about 8:45 and 9am you can get in the line and get a FP with a evening or night return time.

You can't miss really it, just look where lots of people are. Do stand in line, it will go by quicker than you might think.

Although last Wednesday we stood for 45 minutes just after the park opened and we got tickets for 5.30 p.m.

When are they going to start using the regular RSR Fastpass distribution area? The other day I noticed the line for RSR was only 65 minutes.

The FPs are still being distributed in about 2 hours, so they still have a big line waiting for them. The standby wait is slowing down so this may slow down FP distribution. When people are waiting from 30 minutes before the park opens to 15 minutes after it opens to get a FP that 45 minute wait for a FP is getting closed in on by the standby wait time.

Also at the end of the month the Extra Magic Hour everyday by hotel guests will end. So on a few days a week everyone will get in at the same time so the hotel guests won't be getting FPs before everyone else. This may make going to the attraction rather than FP kiosks more attractive, keeping down the FP distribution line.

Why don't they use the Queue for It's tough to be a bug for the RSR fastpass distribution. The part that goes around what looks like Ant island.
That is a very nicely themed area, and I never see it being used. Especially that early in the morning. Or is that the exit for the theater?

Are the fast passes for RSR still gone in approx 2 hours? We are getting to the park around 2PM midweek on 10/17. Do we have a chance at getting a FP or is it standby city?

Yes about 2 hours. Count on that Stand By Queue or wait until the next morning. Of course maybe it will rain.

You are better off going single rider. Or heaven forbid, stand in line. The wait for a fast pass could be long and run out fast. Then, to have to wait in the fast pass entry line could mean another 20-45 minute wait.
My experience has been very nice, we waited for 40 minutes the first time we rode RSR.
20 the next. Then we rode 4 times in a row using the single rider line. We didn't wait more than 10 minutes, if even, in the longest single rider line.

                        just my experience.

so hotel guests DO get fast pass available during Extra Magic Morning Hours? or is just an option to line up?

They can line up, but not where the regular guest coming in for Rope Drop line up. EMH guests get to line up just outside the distribution area, in front of the regular guests who line up starting near the Carthay Theatre entrance. At opening the lines are mixed by leading the Rope Drop guest up to the back of the EMH guests. FPs start being distributed at the parks normal opening. While the rule is the attraction must be operating for FPs to be distributed, RSR always starts at park open, even if RSR is broken down or has a delayed opening.
