Tomorrowland needs to be re-done, there's no doubt about that, and this is my idea on how to do it.
Entrance: Pride Rock and the original Tomorrowland sign are both removed. Making way for it is a sleek, clean, and overall futuristic looking sign, that sprawls vertically on top of two pillars, that have the same persona to them that the sign has. Tomorrowland would be in all lowercase letters, and would have a font similar to "Planet Hollywood" sign on top of the "Planet Hollywood" hotel in Las Vegas. At nighttime, the sign comes alive; using similar technology to the one in Muppet Vision 3-D, things such as rockets, meteors, aliens, or even the occasional Wall-E or Buzz Lightyear pass through the sign, starting at T and ending at D.
4 different animatronic robots would greet you as you walk in, all having a different look, and a different voice. The first Robot, Floyd (voiced by Kevin Sussman), would be your average-joe-Robot, and wear your average "robot" clothing. The second Robot, Kelly (voiced by Kristen Schall), would be your plain-jane-robot, and would have a pink dress on such as the one Jane Jetson has in "The Jetsons", yet with a robot flare. The third robot, would be Lucy (voiced by Nicolette Sheridan), the classy, va-va-voom Robot, similar to Jessica Rabbit, her wardrobe would constantly change. Finally, the fourth Robot, Jerry (voiced by Brian Baumgartner), would be the large, not-so-bright robot, who constantly thinks he's in Fantasyland, his wardrobe would always be overalls.
Astro Orbiter would then move back up to the People Mover Queue, where it belongs.
Submarine Voyage/Autopia: The Submarine Voyage would stay, but the Nemo theme would not. You'd start the voyage with the clear mission of finding a new fish (this would be the deadspace part, when you haven't gone under the rock yet, and you're just looking out at the coral). But then, the captain thinks he sees something in the distance, and asks everyone if they see it too (it'd be a very small, scaled down version of a big city, almost like the underwater version of a Storybook diorama, that's clear to see.). Then, the bubbles would start coming up, and you'd be "submerging" down to the city. During this part, you explore the futuristic, high tech city, and observe the animated people doing their daily jobs. 3/4 through the exploration, you find the fish, chase after him, catch him, and return to surface.
I absolutely love Autopia, but I think it's past it's prime, which is why I say demolish it, and put Test Track there. I know it was one of Disneyland's original rides, but it just seem's like it need's to be put out of it's misery, unless Disney can create a hovercraft car.
Magic Eye Theatre: Captain E.O. would be gone, and the theatre would be repurposed for a laser light show, that sets lasers and other cool effects to Disney and Pixar movies.
Innoventions: I would gut Innoventions out, and put in "Innovators of Tomorrow", an audio animatronic show, similar to the Carousel of Progress. It'd have great innovators, from the past and present, singing about what they did, in an entertaining AND informative way. Featured innovators would include Steve Jobs, Benjamin Franklin, and of course, Walt Disney. During the Steve Jobs number, a plethora of audio-animatrionic Apple products would come out for a dance break.
I'll add to this more today.
Questions, comments, concerns?
