  • [Question] Early entry questions...

I'm hoping to get some advice on the smartest way to use an early entry these days. We'll be there the second week of September and we're trying to decide between Cars Land (RSR), getting a fastpass for WoC, or heading to fantasyland to get on those rides that are normally busy throughout the day.

Has the WoC hype died down at all as far as getting the fast passes? Or is it still important to get it first thing in the morning?

Obviously Cars Land is still busy no matter what, but is there a huge difference of getting in there with early entry compared to rushing there at opening on a normal morning, or do all the early entry people head there first to where it doesn't make that much difference?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

    Re: Early entry questions...

Well, first, I would say get to early entry early. I'd say get there around 6 to 6:10. I know it sounds early, but trust me, it's worth it. For DCA, I would go to Cars Land first and as quickly as possible. The line should only be about 10 minutes if you're quick about it. After you ride Radiator Springs Racers, then I would go get a WOC fastpass. Also, if you want to ride RSR again, there is no one in the single rider line in early entry. I'm assuming that you'll be there for more than one day, so I would say go to Disneyland the other day, and ride the Fantasyland dark rides, such as Peter Pan and Mr. Toad. A great thing about Disneyland early entry is that it lets you get into the other parts of the park, Frontierland, New Orleans Square, etc., early as to where it's almost completely empty. It truly is a magical experience when that part of the park is almost completely empty. I would also ride the Matterhorn during early entry before the line gets ridiculously long later in the day.

You don't need to get WoC Fast Passes early anymore. You can wait until after RSR and a handful of rides before it even crosses your mind. I can't help with the other questions since I haven't done early entry before, but know that you can't get Fast Passes for RSR until the park officially opens.

What kind of Early Admission do you have?
Are you a hotel guest with Extra Magic Hours that gives you the choice between DL and DCA?
Are you a APH with AP Early Entry but only are going to use it once for one park instead of twice for both parks?
Are you getting a 3 day ticket with a Magic Morning good only in DL on select days?

In any case RSR is the place to go first when it's open, or at least to FP by 8:45 maybe 9:30 by then. It doesn't always open on time so it's risky to get in line right away instead of doing other attractions.

WoC you can get blue zone tickets until later morning and probably early afternoon by then. Yellow zone in the evening.

Get a WOC fast pass. It's just better to have reserved seating. All sections are decent. Some are better; but its nothing to stress about.

Spend your early time getting RCR fastpass. I would then head to toystory; that line sucks and theres no fast pass. otherwise everything else is manageable in dca. Disneyland; I might get one to space/splash/or indy. otherwise everything is easy peasy. Fantasyland does get crazy; but usually just peter pan. worth the wait! just wait, its so good.

I'm not 100% sure actually, I'll have to check my ticket again. It's a 4-day park hopper. I didn't realize there were different ones, so thanks!

Thanks!! I've been to disneyland like 10 times so I know very well how amazing Peter pan is i do hate the line though, but it's worth it!

Unless staying onsite, you get to do one Magic Morning. These are in Disneyland Park on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays.

If you want to use that and go to Fantasyland first that's fine. Another option to get Peter Pan with a short line is to go to the rope drop that is set up at the rear of Fantasyland. It's a little hectic but if at this rope when the all clear is given about 30+ minutes after the fireworks end you can walk quicly to Peter Pan where most people go and ride it with less than a 10 minute wait.

Whoops, sorry for the wrong info from me.

You can though line up for FastPasses during early entry, that's what I was thinking of.

Well, that answers part of the question. Multi-day Ticket Holders get one Magic Morning, which can only be spent at Disneyland. Ticket-holders are NOT allowed in to California Adventure for Magic Mornings UNLESS they are staying at an on-property Disney hotel.

You aren't shut out, noboday ever got early entry to DCA because of the ticket they had. It was only for APs and onsite guests.

Magic Mornings, a privilege that comes once with every 3 day or longer tickets allow you into Disneyland Park on a Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday.
