So, I have notice that after mid September, Pixar Play seems to drop off the calender. I find this odd. School is already in full swing so it can't be that. I could swear on prior fall visits it was performed. Maybe its just not schedule yet, but this is doubtful because everything else is. Anyone have the scoop?

Re: Pixar Play ending again?

Hopefully; its sort of lame. I don't really like being attacked with water. Perhaps something amazing and new to go along with all the new things at DCA! I love love love the move it shake it celebrate it street party at MK. Can we get something similar. Great music; interactivity, characters, and confetti!

It was horrendously awful. Disneyland's current parade, Soundsational, is 10000x better.

I just watched that video. Move it Shake it is the same audio but there are different floats. I like the interactivity. and the music is fun.
Soundsational and pixar play are fine but you just watch it and it takes forever for each float to move from section to section.
ok...I just continued to watch that video you posted. the chorus is the same but the dance parts are not the same. Its way better at disneyworld.

Re: Pixar Play ending again?
I love Move it, Shake it in florida. I rewatched the video of the disneyland version. Its at least fun and interactive. The best part of soundsational is the beginning drummers and then the princess float. Otherwise, its sort of blah in my opinion. not bad. but I feel like disney is capable of more.
The point of disneyland is to have attractions/shows that groups of people (families or whatever) can enjoy together. Interactivity. I just don't think sitting on the side watching fulfills the requirement. You can get that at other ****ty parks.
Whatever happened to the confetti? Or daytime fireworks? Or throwing candy!!!!!

Re: Pixar Play ending again?
Move it shake it celebrate it is a dance party, not a parade or performance. I know you just stated you think it should be more interactive and less sitting and watching a show, but that's how most all of the disney parks feel the park's main parade should be. If you'd like to go dance with the characters to music, you have the option of going to that character dance party in the Hollywood Backlot right now.

Re: Pixar Play ending again?
It's actually quite fun to dance and sing along with Soundsational. "Clap your hands, get into the spirit! Let everyone hear it! Come on, come on, Soundsational!" I'm dancing around in my seat just thinking about the music.
EDIT: And now I'm listening to the music on YouTube and really having a blast dancing around in my chair.
The floats pretty well done, I love the array of colors, and there's a good amount of characters that appear in the parade. Overall I think Soundsational is well-done.
... we're getting a litte off-topic from the Pixar Play Parade....

Re: Pixar Play ending again?
I was disappointed that there's no Ratatouille contingent. Apparently it was removed before the one (and probably only) time I saw it. Does anybody actually enjoy being sprayed with water? Even on hot days it's nice to choose one's own cooling mechanism, I think.
I'll stop and watch Soundsational if I'm in the area. It's one of the few reliable appearances of Donald Duck in the park these days. The Three Caballeros!
From that video C!ASP seems closer to the Phineas and Ferb Street thing at DCA than a parade. For some reason I can't look away from the P&F thing when I pass by it and have to stop, and I don't know whether that's because it's fun or horrifyingly bad. I'm not 6 years old so I'm probably not in the target audience anyway, though I think there should be a license required to perform any choreography based on "The Robot" under penalty of a very severe fine.

Re: Pixar Play ending again?
My major problem with Pixar Play Parade is that NONE of the Pixar movies has actual singing. The closest they have is You got a friend in me on Toy Story... Soundsational works well because of the fun well mixed music that memorable. PPP does not IMO because the lack of actual singing in the movies leads to a lack of musical harmony throughout the parade. The music is what makes Soundsational so appealing to me. The lack of memorable music is why I hate PPP so much.

Wow, what bellyaching, omg they squirted water at me from a windex spray nozzle set to stream. This isn't even a super soaker. I pray you never go to Japan. They use water cannons and fire hoses in their annual Cool the Heat and Chip'n Dale's Cool Service Deluxe shows.
Back to Celebrate, I always thought that when Magic Mtn has better floats than Disney, that's pretty pathetic. Other than ear balloons riveted on, what was Disney about the structure?
PPP isn't bad, idk what kids think of the music, I dont want it stuck in my head, but it also isn't to the level of He who shall not be named's Parade that shall not be named lol

Re: Pixar Play ending again?
Pixar Play Parade is back on the Disneyland.com calendar every day in September. The parade drops down to one parade a day after Sept. 3--instead of the two performances during the summer. But it is on the calendar every day in September. I think it was either a delay in the calendar update or a correction was made.
