While waiting for the 9:00 showing of world of color it seem like they were fixing a fountain and they had the stage in maintaince level for quite a bit. And for the first part of World of Color half of the lights on Mickey Fun Wheel were on with the color red. And when they fixed the problems the lights on the fun wheel did not return until the show was over. If these problems are on going World of Color should have a refurb soon. Granted it has only been down for about 7 days in two and a half years?

Re: World of Color problems?
Sounds like pretty minor errors. Things happen during shows, especially with such an extremely technically advanced show like World of Color. 1 fountain not functioning correctly and synching issues with the Fun Wheel definitely don't necessitate a full refurb, as they can be fixed quite easily and probably were in time for the 10:30 show.

Re: World of Color problems?
Hmm I havent noticed anything this drastic. Could have just been some technical difficulties. Maybe it is time for some repairs and a good look over of the whole system. I did notice the other night when I was watching World of Color there was one fountains lights that was not working.

Re: World of Color problems?
World of color certainly is a very technically challenging show. There is a large maintenance team of stage technicians working on the tables (fountains) every night from 11pm to 7am.
Unfortunately, water is a terrible thing in the end. A lot of the equipment out there was built with minimal water protection due to budget restrictions. And boy are they paying the price now.
There are over 100+ fountains not currently working. But out of a sea of 1200, the general audience will hardly notice. However, have you noticed the show no longer uses the large domes that had projections in them? That's right. They were poorly engineered and became more of a pain than it was worth and were removed.
The lagoon is slated to be drained in the next couple years. At that time, the show will get a much needed rest and the equipment can finally have the attention it deserves by the highly skilled team of entertainment technicians!
