[Question] SOOOO Excited And Which Tour?

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

I feel like such a little kid.

After 25 years of living my life and dreaming of going to Disney I am now in the preparations of taking me and my almost 21 year old brother to Disneyland California next year.

Being from Australia it has been a lifelong dream of mine to travel all that distance to go there.

I am so excited as you can probably tell haha.

I have been looking so much over the Disneyland website and have a few questions.

First of all which of the tours would people recommend for Disneyland California and how much are they? What's included in them? Where can they be booked from? How far in advance do they need to be booked? Can they be booked at the park?

I have so many questions but there are a few to start with.

Congrats on your upcoming trip! Take lots of pictures and post them!

As for a tour, top on my list would be the Walking in Walt's Footsteps tour. Be sure to double check this, but I believe that coming soon, this tour will take you into Walt's appartment on Main Street. That alone should be worth the price. (I'm not sure, but I think $100 +.

I am so sorry I can't help with your tour questions (never having been on one myself) but YAY for you and your brother!!!! I think (and the knowledgeable ones will correct me if I am wrong) but which tour(s) you do or don't do might depend on how many total days you get to spend in the resort. I know there are descriptions of the tours on the disneyland.com website... but that's as much as I know.

OMG that would be so cool if the tour started doing Walt's apartment. And you can be sure I will be taking lots of pictures too. I'm buying a video camera with a built in still shot feature just for the holiday. This will seriously be a lifelong dream come true

If you can afford it, I think a Premium tour would be nice for you. It may be a little expensive, but it's the best possible Disney experience you can get.

They get you on rides super quick, they give you priority seating for shows, and just make your whole trip amazing, even if you schedule a Premium Tour for a day.

I agree with Chesire. If you can swing it, the Premium VIP tour is a great way to see and do lots of things on your first trip to DLR without a lot of waiting. The VIP CM tour guide is like your personal concierge that not only makes your VIP viewing reservations for shows and parades and priority seating at restaurants, they also lead you through the FP entrances and to the front of most non-FP rides and attractions, while filling you in on DLR facts and trivia along the way. You tell them what you want to ride (including if you want to ride something multiple times), what shows and parades you want to see, where you want to eat, and if you want, the pace of your tour. They will figure out the best sequence of events, then take you on your personal tour. If you decide to do something else not on your tour itinerary, your VIP tour guide will make the arrangements for you while you're "busy" having fun.

I also think the Walk in Walt's Footsteps is another good first-time visitor tour. They've added a peek into Walt's apartment above the Firehouse, and you get to see the lobby of Club 33.

My DW and I are going to DLR for a quick 3-day visit in mid-September. We've booked a Premium VIP tour for our first full day because we think there will still be major lines to RSR and the Halloween makeover attractions like SM, ToT, HM, etc. And it's always fun to have a VIP CM escort us to each attraction and pamper us all day!

I'm not sure, but I've read in other posts that the Standard VIP tours are $195/hr ($175/hr off-season) and the Premium VIP tours are $295/hr ($275/hr off-season). Both have a minimum of 6 hours and can have up to 10 people in the group.

This is a great place for information and to get answers from "local regulars" who have the pleasure of dropping into DL at a whim. I have been to DL 25+ times in my life and learn something new at Micechat before every visit. Have fun and post a Trip Report!
