So after the makeover of DCA I got to wondering what was still there of the original park. I know almost all of it was either made over or taken out but are there any hints to the old attractions or stores in the park? What is even still there since the opening day that didn't need to be changed? I know there's Soarin', Muppet Vision, and Grizzly River Run but what else has been left as it was originally?

Re: Original Things In DCA
It's gone through changes, but the animation exhibit was original. Taste Pilot's Grill was an opening day restaurant, although they recently got rid of the plane in the front.
King Triton's Carousel is the same as opening day.http://micechat.com/forums/disneylan...oto-heavy.html

California Screamin is essentially the same ride. The music and even the trains are originals. The only changes are obviously the sunburst and a darker shade of blue on the tracks and scream tubes, but the ride is almost exactly the same. Was Redwood Creek Challenge Trail there on opening day?

Yes, it was. They changed the theme, slightly, by incorporating Up, and a little bit of Brother Bear, but it's mostly the same as I remember.http://micechat.com/forums/disneylan...oto-heavy.html

People laugh when Patrick Warburton makes the man take off his mouse ears on Soarin' just as they did on opening day in 2001.

Golden Zephyr and Jumping Jellyfish have new ride spiels. Grizzly has had propping and music changes that D23 states is supposed to evoke a "1930s" "national park theme". Come to think of it, Boudin Bakery and Soarin may be the only two attractions from the original DCA that haven't been touched or changed.

Don't forget short lines... Oh wait they even got rid of that in the last refub...
I just watched the Disney Channel promo they did when DCA opened... How ironic is it that at the start of the promo they drive up in a 1960's Cadilac and now we have a whole Cadilac range!

The only thing that hasn't really undergone any change whatsoever would be...Soarin' and King Triton's Carousel? I'm probably wrong. And when I talk about change, I'm talking about changes in spiels, minor details and additions, new audio, etc. The two I mentioned are it I believe."Y'all come back now, ya hear?"

Re: Original Things In DCA
Well Grizzly while the same rides...has new props and some places have been painted to make it fit to be more realistic then the "kayaking" thing they had going on when it opened
I would say Soarin is the only E ticket ride not to be touched but....I kinda hope they do improve the Q....the set up is just too boring, I'm ok with teaching people stuff but just pictures on a wall with text? Disney can do better then this....Models, movies interactive learning lets make it feel fun while doing it thoughHappy Halloween!!!
