Hello I'm planning to go to Disneyland in 2 weeks and we just decided last minute to make a weekend out of it. I would like to know what hotels would you recommend staying at that is walking distance to Disneyland? It will be 2 adults in our 20's and 2 children 4 and 5. Some where close because I know we will be exhausted after the long day. Oh and if you know they have AP discount or A A A discount please include that in your response. Thank you and my time is really ticking...

The Howard Johnson on Harbor. Close to the park, decent price and ideal for kids. We would stay every time if we could afford it.I open a toy, review it and take mediocore pictures. Read all about it HERE!

I absolutely adore Marriott's Residence Inn. Such a cozy and magical hotel, and it offers discounts for AAA members. It's also within walking distance and the walk to and from the park adds to the experience. So beautiful!

Thank you Meville, I just called and they only have one of the days I need available but told me to keep calling back to make sure no one cancels.
Dillamond, thank you! I'm about to try the Residence Inn right now. I heard good things about them. Fingers crossed.

Re: Hotels walking distance to Disneyland
Depends on your definition of walking distance, but, we usually stay at the Anabella on Katella, when we are not staying on property. Very nice comfortable and well appointed hotel and they do have an AP discount. Here's a link if you're interested: Hotels in Anaheim CA | The Anabella Hotel
Also with little one, unless you book one of the hotels directly across the street, I'd consider an ART pass to get to and from the park/hotel.My Disney blog: http://disneyhistory-myjourneyofdiscovery.blogspot.com/

Re: Hotels walking distance to Disneyland
Any hotel that is on Habor across from the parks is within 10 minutes of walking. A nice short walk when you have to do it twice a day or more to go back for naps, snacks of weather appropraite clothing.
I'd recommend any of them except for the Castle Inn.Be Cool Stay in School!
Next year I'm trying for a summer internship at Stark Industries.

Re: Hotels walking distance to Disneyland
I stayed at the Ramada Maingate on Harbor Blvd. in March. The walk to the park each day was only about 5min, if that, because you are literally right across the street. The longest wait was waiting for the walk signal at the intersection.

Re: Hotels walking distance to Disneyland
I second the Residence Inn recommendation... I've been raving about that place ever since I stayed there this past summer
it's a bit of a longer walk (probably like 20 minutes from hotel property to the turnstiles)... but it's my new go-to hotel
- has a full kitchen, fridge and dining table in your room
- has a good pool, basketball court and playground for the kids
- great buffet breakfast... makes mornings so much better and worth like $25-$30/night for a family of four IMO
- no stupid parking or resort fees

Re: Hotels walking distance to Disneyland
I prefer the Embassy Suites on Harbor south of Katella. While not in walking distance, they have a free shuttle which is even better when you are tired at the end of the day. They have a AAA discount and a full breakfast and happy hour is included with the room. What is even better is that every room is a suite, so the little ones can be in or room and the adults in another.Last edited by calsig31; 09-01-2012, 08:34 PM."Greetings, Starfighter! Re: Hotels walking distance to Disneyland
I suggest the Park Vue Inn. It's directly across from the entrance, the closest hotel in the whole area. I have stayed there three times, was always pleased with it. The staff are great, and prices comparable. They do have AAA. I have friends who just stayed there this August and were very pleased. You can't beat the location. You can just run across the street and drop something in your hotel room if you need to, and be back in the park in minutes. Plus, they give you free bottles of water every day for the park, as much as you like. Free breakfast also. I highly recommend it.

Re: Hotels walking distance to Disneyland
My daughter and I have stayed at several of the hotels right across the street from DL; BW Park Place Inn, The Tropicana, The Carousel Inn and the Park Vue Inn. All of them are "no frill" hotels, but clean and close to the park. We never travel to Disneyland for the Hotel; it's just a place to crash. We have stayed at other locations in Anaheim because of "specials", but after each one we were always dissapointed with the transportation options. The Bus and Shuttle drop-off is 70% of the walk from the Maingate area to a Hotel on the other side of the cross-walk on Harbor Blvd. We love that we can walk back to the Hotel for a quick nap mid-day, and then be right back in the parks. We have selected The Tropicana as our first choice, has a "free breakfast", not much, but enough to get you going...
