  • [Question] Questions about Mickey's Not-so-scary Halloween Party

We'll be visiting DLR Oct 3-6 (Wed-Sat). Friday, Oct 4th the park closes early for MHP.

According to TourPlans, Wed-Fri should be fairly low crowd levels, but they don't give crowd predictions for during the Halloween Party. I'm trying to get an idea what to expect.

Someone suggested that ticket for MHP often sell out, while someone else posted how much they enjoy MHP because they can just "walk on" most of the rides without a wait. These two descriptions seem to be in conflict (unless Disney dramatically limits the tickets available for parties)

So to those who have been before, can you tell us if we should expect longer or shorter lines? Would MHP be a good time ride notoriously long-lined attractions?

Yes almost all parties sell out.

Yes except for the two rides with seasonal layovers Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain other attractions are not very busy.

At the party it's very crowded in some trick or treat lines, speical characters meet and greets and on Mainstreet and the hub for the special parade and special fireworks. That is what is special about the party and what people do. That's why they aren't riding attractions.

Some areas of the park are terribly crowded and some not at all.

This. Attendance is capped somewhere between 20-30,000 from what I've heard. Fast Pass doesn't work during party hours so every attraction is stand-by. Popular attractions (Mansion, Space Mtn, Star Tours) have long lines until after Fireworks when most parents take the kids home.

Also be aware that Saturday Oct 6th is Gay Day at Disneyland, which will increase attendance dramatically.
