  • News Ernest S. Marsh back from rehab--with a SURPRISE

After a lengthy rebuild, which included a new boiler, the Ernest S. Marsh (Engine No. 4) is back on the line--and it now has a tender seat! So now, your chances to get a tender ride have increased, and you'll get to ride behind a pretty historic engine to boot.

This is some very nice news. I was a little worried for a moment there about the surprise.

Worried? Think they added Glow With the Engine or something? :-p

Yay, more chances at a tender ride. Always good.

A tender ride is where you sit with the engineer and the fireman of the train right on the tender and you get one roundtrip around Disneyland. Its really cool. you get get to see what each of their jobs are and you can ask them questions. They'll explain things and tell stories about the railroad. To get on a tender ride you need to go to Main Street station and ask on of the conductors . They will check with the engineer and if they don't have to blow down or take on water or fuel then they will most likely let you sit with them

This is good to hear! Hopefully the Marsh will be out when I go to Disneyland tomorrow!

I was hoping you would say it had a hover conversion like Back To the Future III and that it'd be the greatest addition Tomorrowland had ever seen...

We're all praying that Ernest can stay out of rehab.

Well, like all steam locomotives, the Marsh still has a fairly significant drinking problem...about 140 gallons an hour.
