  • [Fun] What One Item At DL Would Bring The Highest Bid?

Here’s a question I hope will be fun to consider:
If you were to take one item from Disneyland and put it up for auction to the highest bidder which item do you think would receive the highest bid?
I guess what I’m really asking here is what, in your opinion, is the single most iconic and desireable piece of art, technology, or whatever that Disneyland has ever hand in the park?
Just to make this fantasy a little more practical let’s limit the suggestions to things that could actually be removed from the park, placed in say a cargo van, and taken to an auction house. In other words the Castle and the Matterhorn don’t count.
I’ll start the bidding off by suggesting the “Partners” statue of Walt and Mickey.
    Any other ideas?
There are no right or wrong answers here!

Probably one of the steam locomotives, which are intrinsicly tied to Walt and DL history, and meet your criteria. The Lilly Belle might come in a close second.

The Mark Twain and the Columbia might also be up there, but I don't see how either of them could be easily moved. Bsides, neither could be used by the future owner without lots of modifications, unlike the narrow gauge steam locomotives, which can be operated as-is on any similarly-guaged track in the country.

I would have put forth the partners statue, but seeing as how you already did it...maybe the Club 33 street plaque. It may not be iconic to the average visitor, but definitely desirable. Personally I would also love to take one of the two plaques on the archways leading into main street.

King Arthur Carrousel. It was moved to DL from Toronto, and could be moved again.

Here's an example of a different carousel that was sold at auction:

I've gotta go with Steve and say the Locomotives or the Lily Belle. Also agree that Mark Twain would probably be pretty high up on the list.

I think the plaque's that are on the tunnels that go under the main street station train tracks would be pretty high on the list.

a locomotive, the lili belle, mark twain or columbia would fetch the highest price but I would rather take The "A Portrait of Things To Come" painting in Pirates, Auctioneer AA in Pirates and dedication plaque instead.

I think the Wicked Wench inside of Pirates would fetch quite a bit. Smaller than the Sailing Ship Columbia and the Mark Twain, but possibly as iconic.

The car that Walt and Mickey had their last photo taken in.

I imagine the subs will go for quite a bit when they close the ride and get ride of them. I want to turn one into a motorhome.
